Role Description This part-time remote role focuses on delivering high-quality IELTS preparation and related English language support to learners in partner institutions. The IELTS Tutor will design and conduct online lessons that are highly personalised to the attending students and develop skills in all IELTS components (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking). The tutor is expected to have a thorough knowledge of the assessment criteria and be able to provide accurare band scores to students. The course does not flow a linear syllabus, and the tutor is expected to be flexible and to adapt content and lesson planning around students’ needs.

Qualifications

• Strong command of English language teaching, including IELTS exam strategies, academic writing, and speaking skills development.
• Expertise and comprehensive knowledge of the IELTS assessment and criteria. Former examiners preferred.
• Ability to assess student needs and priorities, and plan and deliver effective lessons based on these insights.
• Proficiency with digital teaching platforms, video-conferencing tools, and online learning resources.
• Excellent communication, feedback, and interpersonal skills, with a student-centered, inclusive teaching approach.
• A level 7 teaching qualification such as, Cambridgr DELTA, and/or MA in TESOL/Applied Linguistics, or equivalent professional certification is essential.
• Experience with teen learners, particualrly in an online setting
• Familiarity or knowledge of the Hong Kong education system is preferred.
