We are looking for an experienced IIoT .NET Developer to join a software development team that builds solutions for manufacturers. You will expand and support the company's main industrial software product and its other in-house applications, using Microsoft .NET technologies. The role covers the whole development cycle in an Agile team: gathering requirements, designing solutions, building, testing, deploying and getting the customer's sign-off. You will work closely with developers, customers and non-technical stakeholders to define requirements, build new features and improve existing business processes. The role suits a self-driven engineer with strong .NET, C# and Angular skills who takes real ownership of their work and enjoys working fully remotely.

Details:
- Schedule: Full time
- Location: Remote (U.S.)
- Start: ASAP
- Duration: Long-term
- English: Fluent
- Type of collaboration: Internal Employment
- Work authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. – visa sponsorship is not available

About the project:
The client is a U.S. software company that serves manufacturers with Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and production-monitoring solutions. Its main product connects to machines and equipment on the factory floor, collects data in real time and turns it into insight on production, quality and efficiency. The platform works alongside other manufacturing systems such as MES, SCADA and ERP. It serves both discrete and process manufacturers. The team is small and collaborative, and developers work directly with customers from requirements through to sign-off. The company offers full benefits and fully remote work.

You have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of progressive experience with Microsoft .NET technologies and frameworks (ASP.NET stack)
- Proven experience as a .NET Developer, Software Engineer or in a similar role
- Strong .NET and C# skills, with a solid grasp of back-end best practices
- Good Angular skills and familiarity with front-end best practices
- Experience with SQL Server and T-SQL
- Familiarity with ORM tools, especially Entity Framework, in high-throughput environments
- Experience with domain-driven design and test-driven development
- Experience writing automated unit and integration tests, including mocking side effects
- Strong knowledge of Agile methods
- Solid Git and version-control practices
- Knowledge of web vulnerabilities and secure coding practices
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent spoken and written communication and a strong customer-service mindset
- Ability to work independently with little supervision, handle several projects at once and meet deadlines
- Experience working remotely full time, with a professional home office, reliable internet and mobile phone service
- Valid driver's license (occasional travel to customer sites or internal meetings may be needed)

Nice to have:
- Experience with Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) technologies
- Familiarity with Open Automation Software
- Experience with MES and/or SCADA systems
- Experience with ERP systems, especially CloudSuite Industrial/SyteLine and the Mongoose Framework
- Familiarity with quality control concepts and systems
- Knowledge of the manufacturing industry, including discrete and process manufacturing equipment
- Experience with Bootstrap
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP or similar)
- Experience building large-scale, high-performance, secure applications
- Experience with build pipelines, DevOps, CI/CD and containers

What to do:
- Design, build, improve and support the company's core industrial software product and other in-house applications using Microsoft .NET
- Work with developers, customers and stakeholders to design algorithms, workflows and software solutions
- Write detailed technical specifications based on discussions with internal and external stakeholders
- Write clean, maintainable and efficient code that meets technical and business requirements
- Take part in Agile team activities to deliver high-quality software efficiently
- Integrate internal software components with third-party applications
- Verify, test, deploy and maintain software programs and systems
- Troubleshoot, debug, upgrade and improve existing applications
- Gather user feedback and act on it where it makes sense
- Recommend and make improvements to processes, systems and software
- Handle basic networking and server maintenance for test and demo environments
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Own assigned work end to end, from requirements through customer sign-off, on agreed timelines
- Take part in special projects, training and other activities as needed
