Overview

A growing legal technology business in the immigration sector is hiring an Immigration Caseworker based in London, working three days in the office and two days from home. This is a permanent, full-time role paying £35,000 - £50,000 depending on experience and level. Benefits include 25 days holiday plus three additional days at year end and bank holidays, comprehensive private medical insurance, a £500 annual learning and development budget, one week work-from-anywhere, monthly team lunches and events, an annual international offsite, cycle to work scheme, employer pension contributions, mental health support, gym access, and an onsite barista.

The business supports hundreds of companies and tens of thousands of workers navigating UK immigration, and it is growing fast. This role exists because that growth demands more casework capacity without any drop in quality. Day to day you will be drafting and managing visa submissions, handling Skilled Worker and Certificate of Sponsorship applications, and working closely with advisors and client-facing teams to keep cases moving. What makes this role genuinely interesting is the scope it carries: the expectation is not just that you process cases accurately, but that you become the person the wider business turns to when a tricky immigration question lands. If you know the current UK immigration landscape well, work quickly without cutting corners, and stay calm and credible when a client is anxious, this is a role where that combination will be recognised and rewarded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft accurate, high-quality casework for UK immigration submissions
  • Manage Skilled Worker visa applications and Certificate of Sponsorship processes end to end
  • Maintain strong approval rates and low error rates across your caseload
  • Track submission metrics including approvals and rejections
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with clients and internal teams, primarily on calls
  • Collaborate with advisors, client success, operations, support, and product teams to resolve blockers
  • Spot workflow inefficiencies and propose practical improvements

Requirements

Must-haves:

  • Hands-on immigration casework experience
  • Skilled Worker visa and COS experience under post-August 2025 UK rules
  • Ability to carry a high volume of cases without sacrificing accuracy
  • Strong verbal communication, calm and credible under pressure
  • Independent time management and task prioritisation

Nice-to-haves:

  • IAA accreditation or equivalent immigration course
  • Experience in a fast-scaling or tech-enabled legal environment

What Success Looks Like

  • Consistently high throughput with a low error rate from the first few months
  • Deep, current knowledge of Skilled Worker and COS rules applied confidently day to day
  • Recognised across the business as the go-to person for immigration questions
  • Client calls handled calmly and credibly, even when stakes are high
  • Measurable contribution to approval rates and submission quality across the team

Team and Culture

  • Cross-functional by design: caseworkers work closely with advisors, client success, ops, and product rather than in isolation
  • High-performing team where speed and quality are both taken seriously, not traded off against each other
  • A business where around a quarter of the workforce is sponsored, so immigration is genuinely central to how the company operates, not a back-office function

Challenges

  • The August 2025 rule changes to UK immigration law are a hard line: casework experience from before that point, without active upskilling since, will not be enough to operate safely in this role
  • The caseload is high volume, and managing competing deadlines without letting quality slip requires genuine discipline and focus
  • Clients are often anxious about their visa status, so calls demand composure and authority even when the situation is complicated or uncertain
