Role Description The Immigration Legal Assistant is a full-time remote role supporting attorneys with day-to-day immigration case work. Responsibilities include preparing and organizing immigration forms and supporting documents, drafting basic correspondence, and maintaining accurate digital case files. The role involves communicating with clients to collect information, provide status updates, and schedule virtual meetings. The Legal Assistant will manage administrative tasks such as data entry, deadline tracking, and document management in case management systems. Collaboration with attorneys and other team members to ensure timely and compliant filings is an essential part of this position.
Qualifications
  • Foundational knowledge of Law and immigration procedures, with experience supporting Legal Assistants or legal professionals.
  • Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, formatting, and reviewing immigration forms and related filings.
  • Strong Communication skills for interacting with clients and team members in a clear, professional, and respectful manner.
  • Administrative Assistance skills, including organization, time management, data entry, and digital file maintenance.
  • Comfort working in a remote, technology-driven environment, with the ability to learn and use legal case management software.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality in handling sensitive client information.
  • Prior experience in an immigration law setting or legal office is preferred.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Legal Studies, Political Science, International Relations) or equivalent experience is beneficial.
