Job Title: Industrial Engineer
Job Description
The Industrial Engineer designs, develops, tests, and evaluates integrated systems that manage industrial production processes, including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics, material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination. This role focuses on increasing productivity by optimizing the management of people, business processes, and technology, while ensuring high standards of quality, reliability, and operational efficiency across manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities
- Analyze statistical data and product specifications to define standards and establish quality and reliability objectives for finished products.
- Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient use of staff and facilities.
- Recommend methods to improve utilization of personnel, materials, and utilities to enhance overall productivity.
- Plan and establish sequences of operations for fabricating and assembling parts or products to ensure efficient workflows.
- Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine optimal manufacturing processes, staffing requirements, and production standards.
- Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production issues, maximize product reliability, and minimize costs.
- Estimate production costs and evaluate the impact of product design changes to support management decision-making and control.
- Draft and design layouts of equipment, materials, and workspaces using drafting tools and computer software to achieve maximum efficiency.
- Design, procure, build, install, and debug equipment related to material movement and storage within manufacturing facilities.
- Manage Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), including overseeing program timelines, addressing open issues, and providing financial forecasts.
- Lead projects by coordinating resources, delivering leadership updates, reporting status, and tracking timelines to ensure successful implementation.
- Apply structured problem-solving methodologies, such as Red X or 7 Diamond, to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
- Develop and use Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), simulation techniques, and control plans to optimize processes and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with controls engineering teams and apply understanding of control system principles in manufacturing environments to improve system performance.
This is a Contract position based out of Warren, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $34.00 - $36.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
