About Illini Environmental
Illini Environmental is a full-service environmental services firm serving industrial, commercial, and municipal clients across
the Midwest. We treat, transport, and manage non-hazardous, special, and hazardous waste streams, and we provide
industrial cleaning, vacuum, and related field services.
We are an EPA-permitted waste partner with more than 20 years in the Midwest, now part of O6 Environmental Services. The
work is practical: reduce client risk, stay compliant, and keep plants, warehouses, and job sites running. This hire is based in
the Chicagoland area and will build a local book of industrial service work, with room to grow.
The Role
The Industrial Services Sales Manager owns new business for industrial cleaning, vacuum, waste, and related field services in
the Chicagoland area. This is a seller role. You find the work, build the relationship, price it with operations, and stay on the
account through award and repeat revenue.
You will work with Illini operations that own delivery, people, and project execution. You do not hand the sale off and
disappear. You are the client’s commercial point of contact, and you stay close enough to scope, schedule, and margin that
the work we win is work we can perform safely and profitably.
What You Will Sell
•Industrial cleaning, including high-pressure cleaning of production floors, equipment, tanks, and facilities, without
shutting the customer down longer than the job requires.
• Vacuum truck services for liquid and dry waste, including removal, transport, and disposal.
• Non-hazardous and special waste disposal, from characterization through transportation to treatment, storage, and
disposal.
• Hazardous waste transportation and management, including lab pack and 10-day transfer support.
• Bulk liquid transport, used oil recycling, and consumer product de-packaging where those streams fit the account.
• Recurring service agreements and project work for manufacturing, warehousing, utilities, healthcare, chemical, and
municipal clients across Chicago and the suburbs.
Responsibilities
• Build the book. Identify target accounts, open doors, and convert industrial prospects into awarded work, repeat service,
and expanded scope.
• Own the proposal. Review plans, specs, and site conditions. Prepare estimates, budgets, and proposals. Pull
subcontractor and vendor pricing when the bid needs it.
• Sell with operations. Coordinate scope, schedule, equipment, and crew needs with the branch so the price matches how
the work will actually be done.
• Stay on the account. Be the primary commercial contact for the client. Run progress conversations, catch scope changes
early, and price change orders when the work shifts.
• Protect margin. Track pipeline, backlog, win rate, and gross margin on the work you sell. Do not discount your way out of
a safe, compliant job.
• Know the rules. Sell work that can be performed under company safety policy, site plans, and environmental regulations.
Do not promise a scope the field cannot defend.
• Feed the market. Build the Chicagoland account list: local relationships, vendor contacts, and a forecast operations can
staff against.
Qualifications
• 5+ years selling, estimating, or managing environmental, industrial service, or construction work, with ownership of
results.
• A seller track record in industrial cleaning, vacuum, waste, remediation, or related field services. Comfortable in a plant,
on a dock, and in a proposal review.
• Experience building a territory, account list, or book of business. Opening or growing a new office or market is a plus.
• Working knowledge of estimating, scheduling, and cost control, including subcontractor and vendor pricing.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations, waste characterization, and industrial safety expectations.
• Clear communication with plant managers, EHS contacts, engineers, and field crews.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, not required. Proven industrial sales results carry more weight.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to cover the Chicagoland area and be on customer sites.
What We Offer
• Competitive Pay
• Uncapped Commission: Performance-based commission with unlimited earning potential.
• Medical, Dental, and Vision Plans, including 100% company paid Medical option
• 401 (K) with Company Match
• Paid Time Off
