Information Security Specialist

This is a hands-on, individual contributor, delivery-focused role, suited to someone who thrives in a very fast-moving, growing environment where priorities can shift quickly. This role moves away from traditional GRC and leans into modernising it.

You will take hands-on ownership of effective controls, not just documentation. You'll be comfortable with a high degree of autonomy and will naturally lead and take ownership of priorities.

About Your New Job:

• This role will suit a hands-on security specialist who supports the ISMS, validates controls for themselves, and drives continuous improvement with energy and pragmatism.
• This role moves away from traditional GRC and leans into modernising it.
• You'll work across the business as someone who meets challenges head-on, brings people with them, and makes security work in practice, not just on paper.
• Support the day-to-day running of the ISO 27001 ISMS across the business.
• Prepare for internal and external audits.
• Maintain a live, decision-oriented risk register with owners and mitigation plans.
• Support vendor and customer security due diligence in support of commercial and product needs.
• Define evidence expectations for technical controls (SIEM, EDR, MFA, RBAC, vulnerability management).
• Go and check: verify controls independently rather than relying on assertions; if something looks wrong, investigate and resolve it.
• Build engaging security awareness training.
• Report into the InfoSec Lead.

What Skills You’ll Need:

• 3-5 years experience in Information Security / ISMS operations
• Ideally experience in MedTech / Clinical or Life Sciences industries, however not required
• Hands-on ISO 27001 exposure - internal audit and management review experience
• Experience with external audit
• Technical background and control implementation experience
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Ability to translate technical controls into practical action
• Experience or a strong attitude for AI
• Familiarity with cloud security fundamentals
• Hands on experience with SOC2, CIS, ISO etc.
