Role: Infrastructure Manager

Location: Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid)

Salary: €60,000 - €65,000 DOE

About the Business

My client is a well-established UK-based mission-critical infrastructure and services business with a strong presence across the UK and Ireland.

The business provides essential services and technology solutions to customers across a range of sectors, supported by a geographically distributed Technology team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Infrastructure Manager / Systems Administrator to join a wider Technology function and take ownership of the day-to-day IT environment across Ireland, with a particular focus on the Dublin site.

About the Role

  • We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Manager with a strong background in both traditional on-premise IT infrastructure and public cloud environments, ideally Microsoft Azure.
  • You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and support of the IT environment, including end-user computing, telephony, storage, networking, monitoring and collaboration tools.
  • You will work closely with the Head of IT Infrastructure and wider Technology team, supporting both BAU operations and key technology projects.
  • The role will primarily focus on the Dublin site, with occasional travel to other sites across Ireland as required, alongside remote support for wider UK locations.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management

  • Administer and maintain the IT infrastructure across the Dublin site, including switches, firewalls, access points, computers and storage.
  • Work closely with application managers and infrastructure leadership to ensure key CRM, service and finance systems remain highly available.
  • Support the administration and maintenance of wider group cybersecurity technologies, including EDR, web filtering, SIEM, email filtering, backup and MDM solutions.
  • Monitor and optimise both on-premise infrastructure and cloud environments.
  • Manage relationships with external technology and service providers, conducting regular reviews to ensure agreed service levels are consistently met or exceeded.

Security & Compliance

  • Ensure infrastructure is regularly patched and vulnerabilities are identified, assessed and remediated within agreed timescales.
  • Work with the wider IT Infrastructure team to maintain and improve the organisation's overall cybersecurity posture.
  • Regularly review Active Directory, Entra ID and other identity platforms to ensure appropriate RBAC and access controls are maintained.
  • Support wider security, compliance and risk management initiatives.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation covering on-premise and cloud infrastructure, systems and operating procedures.
  • Work with the Head of IT Infrastructure to ensure quarterly system reviews and annual external audits are completed effectively and on time.
  • Maintain clear records of infrastructure changes, risks, issues and improvement activities.

Collaboration & Support

  • Provide hands-on technical support primarily to the Dublin site, with occasional support across other ROI locations.
  • Provide remote technical support to wider UK sites where required.
  • Work closely with the Head of IT Infrastructure on key technology projects and BAU activities.
  • Participate in regular Service Desk and Infrastructure team meetings.
  • Participate in the remote weekend on-call rota, currently approximately 1 in 6, providing support for BAU break/fix issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve technology processes, service quality and cost efficiency.
  • Develop and implement improvement initiatives that enhance the overall technology service.

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure support.
  • Strong experience across both on-premise and public cloud environments, ideally Azure.
  • Demonstrable experience managing business stakeholders and third-party suppliers.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Experience working within a structured IT service management environment.

Technical Skills

  • Windows Server 2016 / 2019 / 2022
  • Active Directory
  • DNS and DHCP
  • File and Print Services
  • Remote Desktop Services
  • Hyper-V and/or VMware

  • Mobile Device Management (MDM)
  • Patch and vulnerability management
  • Microsoft Entra ID
