Position Summary
The Information Technology (IT) Manager is responsible for the daily administration, maintenance, and support of all technology systems across the FBO network. Serving as the company's primary internal IT resource, this role ensures reliable technology operations by providing hands-on technical support, maintaining hardware and software, administering company systems, coordinating with managed service providers and technology vendors, and supporting operational technology initiatives.
This position focuses primarily on execution and operational support while assisting the executive leadership team with technology planning, budgeting, and system improvements when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Operations
• Provide day-to-day technical support for all corporate and FBO employees.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, phones, and other technology equipment.
• Administer Microsoft 365 including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and user accounts.
• Manage employee onboarding and offboarding technology requirements, including equipment deployment and account provisioning.
• Monitor system performance and coordinate resolution of technology issues.
• Maintain accurate inventories of hardware, software, licenses, and technology assets.
Infrastructure & Systems Support
• Coordinate with managed service providers to maintain servers, network infrastructure, wireless systems, internet connectivity, firewalls, and backup systems.
• Monitor backups and verify successful completion.
• Assist with software upgrades, hardware replacements, and technology implementations.
• Support conference room technology, digital displays, and audiovisual equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs of technology equipment across all locations.
Vendor Management
• Serve as the primary point of contact for managed service providers, telecommunications providers, software vendors, and technology consultants.
• Open, monitor, and manage vendor support tickets.
• Coordinate vendor activities during technology installations and maintenance.
• Track vendor performance and escalate issues when necessary.
• Maintain vendor contracts, software renewals, warranties, and support agreements.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
• Maintain user security access, password administration, and multi-factor authentication.
• Ensure timely installation of security patches and software updates.
• Monitor endpoint protection and antivirus systems.
• Assist with cybersecurity awareness training for employees.
• Coordinate responses to security incidents with outside technology partners.
• Support compliance with company technology policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Business Applications
• Support company business systems including HRIS, payroll, accounting, scheduling, fuel management, and other operational software.
• Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate resolutions with software vendors.
• Assist departments with technology-related questions and system improvements.
• Test software updates prior to implementation.
Documentation & Asset Management
• Maintain technology documentation including inventories, procedures, system records, and support documentation.
• Track equipment warranties, software licenses, and replacement schedules.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for common IT processes.
• Ensure technology records remain accurate and current.
Leadership Support
• Assist executive leadership with technology planning, budgeting, and operational improvement initiatives.
• Provide recommendations for equipment replacement, software purchases, and technology investments based on operational needs.
• Participate in technology projects supporting company growth, acquisitions, and new FBO openings.
Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Experience
• 3–5 years of progressive IT support or systems administration experience.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments.
• Experience working with managed service providers and third-party technology vendors.
• Experience supporting multiple business locations preferred.
• Aviation or FBO experience preferred but not required.
Skills & Competencies
• Strong troubleshooting and technical support skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Administration.
• Knowledge of Windows operating systems and desktop support.
• Basic networking knowledge including switches, wireless networks, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Certifications
• Valid driver's license.
• CompTIA A+

• Microsoft 365 Fundamentals or Microsoft Certified Administrator
• ITIL Foundation (preferred)
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to install and move computer equipment.
• Ability to work under desks, in equipment closets, and around networking equipment.
• Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
• Ability to travel periodically between company locations.
• Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends during system maintenance or emergency support.
Work Environment
This position is primarily remote with frequent travel to FBO locations. The IT Manager supports both office and operational personnel and may occasionally work in airport terminals, hangars, server rooms, and other operational areas. The role requires responsiveness to technology issues that support a 24/7 aviation operation and may occasionally require after-hours support for critical system maintenance or outages.
