You will combine hands-on software development with technical concept development, system integration, and supplier coordination to ensure reliable and high-quality solutions.

For this project-based freelance assignment, we are looking for an experienced specialist who can contribute from day one, independently address complex technical challenges, and drive implementation through a proactive, solution-oriented, and ownership-driven approach.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine technical concepts covering system architecture, interfaces, and integration with vehicle controls, including handlebar operation
  • Contribute to project planning, including scope definition, timelines, release planning, work packages, and milestones
  • Independently develop and implement proofs of concept (PoCs) to evaluate technical approaches and validate potential solutions
  • Coordinate and technically guide suppliers and external development teams, reviewing implementation progress and providing structured technical feedback
  • Analyze and resolve complex technical issues related to connectivity, audio/video streaming, and system performance, ensuring sustainable solutions
  • Support software validation, testing, and certification processes, including Apple CarPlay / MFi and Android Auto requirements, as well as release approvals
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders across E/E architecture, connectivity, HMI, and related development projects to ensure alignment and transparent communication

Your Profile

  • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or a comparable technical field
  • Strong professional experience in software development, ideally within embedded automotive, motorcycle, or infotainment systems
  • Proven hands-on experience with Projected Mode technologies, particularly Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ideally within series-production projects
  • Strong technical knowledge of embedded software environments and technologies such as C/C++, Linux, QNX, or Android
  • Solid understanding of connectivity technologies and communication protocols, including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB, iAP2, and audio/video streaming
  • Experience in technically coordinating suppliers and external development teams, including implementation reviews and technical problem-solving
  • Familiarity with ECU development processes, including the V-model, Automotive SPICE, requirements management, change management, and release processes
  • Experience in consulting, client-facing, or complex project-driven environments is considered a plus
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, combined with a hands-on approach to software development and integration
  • Proactive and independent working style with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and delivery orientation
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical stakeholders and work collaboratively across interdisciplinary teams
  • Fluent English, including confident communication in technical discussions and negotiations

What We Offer

  • Exciting project opportunity in the automotive and motorcycle industry, working with innovative infotainment and connectivity technologies
  • Opportunity to take ownership of technically challenging tasks and contribute directly to software development and integration
  • Collaboration with experienced engineering teams in an international, technology-driven environment
  • Flexible, primarily remote working setup with occasional on-site presence in Germany
  • Project-based B2B collaboration with an initial duration of 6 months
