Summary:
ATS is seeking a fulltime
Infrared Thermography Instructor/Field Service Technician to support The Snell Group in Orono, Maine.
This is a remote position.
Responsibilities/Duties
:
Responsible IR/T Method Level III.
Experience teaching certification classes, administering written and practical exams.
Act as an Outside Agency in the Infrared Method for clients. Including responsibility for certifying (training, testing and experience), program and personnel audits and procedure development.
Maintain written practice and personnel certification records.
Perform examinations of materials including composites and aerospace structures in accordance with a variety of active and passive NDT techniques, procedures, codes, standards and specifications.
Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the method(s) for which qualified, and exercise assigned responsibility for OJT and guidance of trainees. Be the SME for all things infrared and an expert with infrared camera specifications and adjustments.
Interface with internal department managers and clients to determine scope of work and work priorities in order to meet and exceed customer expectations.
Be able to prepare written instructions and to organize and report the results of inspections.
Work independently and support team members. Perform other job-related tasks as needed and assigned by supervisors.
Conduct R&D related work and provide technical briefings in professional settings.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
IR/T Method Level III – Meet the minimum requirements of an Level III Infrared/Thermal certificate holder and/or be willing and able to obtain this certification in a timely manner. In addition, IRT Level 3 certification governed by National Aerospace Standard 410 will be given special consideration.
Must provide documentation of education, training, and experience in each of the applicable NDT method(s); have a working knowledge of industrial environments and general and aerospace manufacturing processes.
Must have ability to effectively communicate with other departments, and customers.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as an IR/T Level III Professional preferred.
Work Conditions:
Travel to customer sites, ATS and ATS FoC locations, professional conferences and meetings.
Travel up to 50% of time.
Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
Work in/around operating equipment and industrial environments.
Work shifts up to 12 hours/day and 7 days/week and travel for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift and carry 100 pounds.
