  • Location: Charlotte, NC
  • Hybrid position (3 days per week on site in uptown Charlotte)
  • 1-year contract with opportunity for extension or full-time hire
  • W-2 only. No Corp-to-Corp or 1099 arrangements. Successful candidate must be able to work on W-2 without visa sponsorship both now and in future.


Brooksource is seeking an Infrastructure Automation Engineer to support enterprise infrastructure platforms and business-critical applications for our Fortune 500 client. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and supporting infrastructure automation solutions across server, storage, networking, and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), scripting, API integrations, and cloud technologies, with a passion for improving operational efficiency through automation.


This individual will work closely with infrastructure, cloud, security, and application teams to develop scalable and resilient solutions that automate provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, and operational processes. The position requires a strong technical foundation across enterprise infrastructure technologies, along with the ability to independently troubleshoot complex issues and recommend improvements to existing platforms and processes.


WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Design, develop, and implement infrastructure automation solutions using Python, PowerShell, Terraform, and Linux-based technologies
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to automate provisioning, configuration, and management of enterprise infrastructure
  • Develop API-based integrations between infrastructure platforms, monitoring tools, and business applications
  • Support and administer enterprise infrastructure technologies including servers, storage, networking, operating systems, and supporting software platforms
  • Assist with infrastructure planning, architecture, implementation, upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management activities
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, standards, and implementation methodologies
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend new solutions, enhancements, or upgrades that improve infrastructure operations
  • Collaborate with cloud, security, and application teams to support hybrid cloud environments leveraging AWS and Azure technologies
  • Participate in infrastructure design reviews and provide technical guidance to other members of the IT organization
  • Support software and hardware integration efforts and perform testing to ensure successful implementation of new solutions
  • Prepare technical documentation, status updates, and progress reports related to projects and operational initiatives


WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 3-4+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments
  • Advanced experience with Python, PowerShell, and Terraform
  • Strong experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions
  • Experience automating infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and operational workflows
  • Experience developing and supporting API-based integrations
  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and enterprise infrastructure technologies
  • Understanding of servers, storage, networking, virtualization, and platform services
  • Experience working in cloud and hybrid cloud environments, preferably AWS and/or Azure
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to document processes, standards, procedures, and technical solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise infrastructure environments
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring, observability, and operational tooling
  • Knowledge of infrastructure security best practices and automation-driven compliance
  • Experience supporting highly available, resilient, and scalable infrastructure platforms
  • Familiarity with enterprise change management and IT service management processes
  • Experience collaborating across infrastructure, cloud, application, and security teams
