The Role & The Team
Reporting to the Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Senior Specialist within the Health and Injury Management team, the Injury Management Advisor delivers end-to-end rehabilitation, recovery-at-work and return-to-work services for employees experiencing illness or injury.
This role supports employees across a nationally critical aviation organisation and provides the opportunity to manage complex and diverse injury management cases within the federal workers' compensation scheme.
The role focuses on early intervention, rehabilitation coordination and return-to-work planning for employees with physical and psychological injuries, ensuring compliance with rehabilitation obligations under the SRC Act.
You will join a collaborative Injury Management Team that is passionate about supporting employee wellbeing and recovery. The team partners across HR, operations and the broader business to deliver practical, people-focused injury management solutions and positive workplace outcomes.

The Person
You are an experienced injury management or rehabilitation professional with direct experience managing rehabilitation and return-to-work cases within the Comcare scheme and applying the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (SRC Act).
You are confident supporting employees with both physical and psychological injuries, navigating complex stakeholder relationships and delivering sustainable return-to-work outcomes.
You are highly organised, resilient and capable of balancing legislative requirements, operational needs and employee wellbeing when managing complex cases.
The successful applicant will have:
- Practical experience managing rehabilitation and return-to-work cases within a Comcare-insured organisation, including practical application of the SRC Act, rehabilitation obligations and recovery at work requirements.
- Strong capability supporting employees with physical and psychological injury claims, including development, implementation and monitoring of recovery at work and rehabilitation plans.
- Proven ability to manage a complex caseload while balancing competing priorities.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and collaborate across multiple parties.
- Demonstrated ability to provide advice and coaching to leaders regarding rehabilitation obligations, suitable duties and return-to-work responsibilities.
- Experience using injury management, workers' compensation or case management systems to maintain records, monitor progress, produce reports and support effective case governance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgement, maintain confidentiality and manage competing priorities.
