About the role

REM Waste is a UK-based waste management company working with 750+ suppliers nationwide. We’re expanding our commercial team and hiring a Commercial Inbound Sales Closer to handle inbound calls from trade and commercial customers — builders, groundworkers, roofers, contractors. No cold calling. You take the call, work out who you’re talking to, close the sale, and grow the account.

This is more than order-taking. The best people in this seat uncover what the customer is really doing and sell the right solution around it.

What you’ll do

• Take inbound calls from commercial and trade customers ordering skips and grab hire
• Identify who you’re speaking to — what’s the job, the project, the scale?
• Close the order on the call
• Migrate customers onto our commercial ordering platform (one-click exchanges, ESG and spend reporting) — and earn commission on every conversion
• Consultatively upsell the right products for the job: aggregates and stone for backfill, diggers, welfare units, chutes, and more
• Own your follow-up and pipeline in HubSpot

Who you are

• 3+ years in B2B, commercial, or trade phone sales
• You discover, close, and grow — you don’t just take orders
• You can hold a consultative conversation and spot the upsell
• You’re disciplined with CRM and follow-up
• You work independently and own your targets

This role is not for you if:

• You’re a pure order-taker who waits to be told what the customer wants
• You’ve only sold B2C and can’t hold a commercial conversation
• You need daily supervision to stay on track

Logistics

• Hours: Full-time, 5-day working week on a Monday–Saturday rota, 08:00–17:00 BST
• Working arrangement: You will work as a freelance contractor on a UK contract, remotely from a suitable quiet workstation. You invoice monthly for your full basic plus commission; we pay monthly into your bank account. You will need a computer no more than 2 years old with a minimum of 8 GB RAM so you can run our call software without calls dropping, a call-centre style headset (with mic), and dedicated fibre broadband.
