About Sygnature Discovery
At Sygnature Discovery, we create exceptional scientific outcomes. For our customers, who bring life-changing medicines to patients; and for our people, who help make this possible.
We’re 700+ scientists from over 50 countries, working as one across Europe and North America. With no competing internal programs, we offer total confidentiality and commitment.
Over the past 20 years, we’ve earned a track record of real impact: 60+ advanced candidates, 250 patents filed, 200+ active projects. Over 90% of our customers choose to stay with us – from biotechs racing to clinic to pharma companies that need specialised expertise for targeted challenges.
About the role:
Our Business Development team is seeking a proactive and commercially curious Inside Sales Specialist to support the continued growth of our global business. This is a hybrid role with the expectation to be in the office 3 days per week.
As an Inside Sales Specialist, you will identify and research prospective customers across the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors and use those insights to create targeted outreach that generates interest. Your work will help build a consistent pipeline of credible opportunities for the Business Development team.
Working closely with Business Development, Marketing and scientific colleagues, you will combine customer, market and scientific insights to identify organisations that could benefit from Sygnature Discovery’s drug discovery expertise. You will turn those insights into concise, relevant and credible written outreach that demonstrates an understanding of each organisation’s priorities, explains why Sygnature Discovery may be relevant and gives the recipient a clear reason to respond.
Strong analytical, writing and collaboration skills are essential. Externally, the emphasis will be on thoughtful written prospecting rather than leading customer meetings. Internally, you will share insights clearly, align with colleagues on priorities and provide the relevant context needed to assess and hand over promising leads. The appropriate Business Development colleague will lead subsequent customer discussions, explore needs and solutions, and own commercial progression.
This is a great opportunity to play an important role in developing our commercial pipeline, generating interest among new prospective customers and supporting the continued growth of our global business.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Identify, research and prioritise target organisations and relevant scientific and commercial stakeholders across the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and emerging life sciences sectors.
Monitor scientific, market and commercial developments to identify emerging customer needs and prospecting opportunities.
Conduct structured prospecting through email, LinkedIn and digital campaigns, creating concise, credible messages that capture attention and give prospects a clear reason to respond.
Assess interest and available customer, scientific and commercial context to qualify credible leads for Business Development.
Collaborate with Business Development, Marketing and scientific colleagues to align priorities, refine outreach and provide well-informed lead handoffs.
Maintain accurate, timely records of prospecting, outreach, qualification and handoff activity in the company’s commercial systems.
Skills & Qualifications:
Degree or equivalent, ideally in a scientific, business or life sciences discipline.
Understanding of, or strong interest in, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and drug discovery; experience in life sciences or another technically complex environment is desirable.
Experience in inside sales, sales or business development, prospecting or lead generation is advantageous but not essential.
Commercially minded and intellectually curious professional who enjoys researching emerging companies and markets.
Proactive, organised and resilient, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and commercial relevance.
Strong research and analytical skills, with sound judgement in assessing prospects and commercial relevance.
Excellent writing skills, with the ability to turn market and customer insights into clear, credible and engaging outreach.
Experience with CRM or other commercial systems, and the ability to work independently while collaborating clearly and effectively across global teams.
