TeksystemsInstaller Technician (Data Center Infrastructure) Location: Multiple Locations Across Texas Work Type: 100% Remote Travel-Based Field Role (Texas) Employment Type: Contract Overview We are seeking experienced Installer Technicians to support large-scale data center infrastructure deployments across multiple locations throughout Texas. This role is ideal for technicians with experience installing telecommunications and transport equipment in ISP, carrier, or hyperscale data center environments. Technicians will be responsible for equipment implementation, rack and stack activities, fiber and copper cabling, power connections, equipment turn-up, and infrastructure support while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Install and deploy transport and telecommunications equipment in data center environments. Perform rack and stack activities for network and transport hardware. Install, terminate, route, and label copper and fiber optic cabling. Conduct fiber cleaning, connectorization, and testing. Perform hardware mounting, rack installations, and cable management. Complete power connections, power tapping, and lockout/tagout procedures. Support equipment turn-up, testing, and validation activities. Troubleshoot installation issues and ensure all work meets customer and industry standards. Maintain detailed documentation of installations and project progress. Required Qualifications Experience with data center, telecommunications, or network equipment installation. Strong knowledge of: Rack and Stack Fiber Optic Cabling Fiber Cleaning & Connectorization Crimping and Cable Termination Hardware Installation Wiring and Structured Cabling Telecom Infrastructure Experience working with transport equipment platforms such as: 1Finity Ciena Infinera Familiarity with power lockout/tagout procedures and power distribution activities within data centers. Ability to read and interpret installation diagrams and technical documentation. Comfortable working in fast-paced data center environments. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in ISP, carrier, colocation, or hyperscale data centers. Experience supporting large-scale network infrastructure implementations. Ability to work independently and travel to project locations as needed. Work Environment ISP and hyperscale data center environments. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Waco, Texas. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
