POSITION SUMMARY

Instructors will provide professional military education instruction to officers in the US Air Force and other services in developing innovative organizations capable of operating in dynamic, complex, and uncertain environments enabling officers to anticipate change and respond to the surprise/uncertainty of 21st century warfare. In almost all cases, instruction will be delivered online. Upon hiring, instructors will be required to complete initial faculty development instruction and other requirements to be identified by the Air Force Global College (AFGC). The AFGC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and provides competent contractor and government faculty qualified to accomplish the organization’s goals and mission.

PROFESSIONAL (OPERATIONAL) QUALIFICATIONS

• Relevant professional operational experience in Leadership and Ethics

• Completion of Intermediate Developmental Education (IDE) and/or Senior Developmental Education. Resident completion preferred, but not required.

• JPME Phase I and/or Phase II

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s or Terminal degree in Organizational Leadership, Management, Public Administration, Human Resource Development, Ethics, Philosophy, or a related field.

• Record of special courses or programs in leadership and/or ethics.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Assignments at the Squadron level or higher in the US Air Force or a sister service. Prefer candidates with Squadron command or higher experience (USAF or sister service).

• Service as a Branch Chief or higher at the Major Command level, on the Air Staff, or equivalent.

• Expeditionary unit leadership or staff assignments, with deployment experience in such positions being a strong plus.

• Authored publications in a related subject area.

• Prior online teaching experience (military or civilian) is a strong plus.
