POSITION TITLE: Instructor, Warfare Studies (Multiple Openings)

POSITION SUMMARY

Instructors will provide professional military education instruction to officers in the US Air Force and other services in the Profession of Arms in the 21st Century. In almost all cases, instruction will be delivered online. Upon hiring, instructors will be required to complete initial faculty development instruction and other requirements to be identified by the Air Force Global College (AFGC). The AFGC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and provides competent contractor and government faculty qualified to accomplish the organization’s goals and mission.

PROFESSIONAL (OPERATIONAL) QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong background in warfare studies and the theory of warfare, especially in the areas of Air, Space, and Cyberspace power.

• Completion of Intermediate Developmental Education (IDE) and/or Senior Developmental Education. Resident completion preferred, but not required.

• JPME Phase I and/or Phase II

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s or Terminal degree in areas such as Military History, Communications, Research, Leadership, International Security, or a related field.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Assignments showcasing professional operational experience such as:
• Staff or leadership positions in a Joint or Combined Air Operations Center.
• Wing Weapons/Tactics.
• Flight Commander or higher in intelligence, fighter, bomber, space, cyber, air battle manager, or airborne command and controlat the Squadron level or higher in the US Air Force or a sister service.

• Deployment experience in such positions is a strong plus.

• Prior online teaching experience (military or civilian) is a strong plus.
