London hybrid
Initial 2-month engagement, with potential extension into 2027 initiatives
The Opportunity
We're supporting a leading insurer through a significant finance and treasury transformation programme and are looking for an experienced Treasury Transformation Consultant to provide specialist expertise in liquidity forecasting, treasury processes, and operating model optimisation.
This is an opportunity to join an established programme environment with strong governance, dedicated project management support and multiple transformation workstreams already in flight. You'll work closely with Treasury stakeholders and the Finance Change team, helping shape future-state treasury capabilities and bringing best practice thinking to a high-profile strategic initiative.
The initial engagement is expected to run for approximately two months, with strong potential for further involvement as additional transformation initiatives are mobilised through 2027.
The Role
The primary focus of this engagement is to enhance long-term liquidity forecasting capabilities by assessing current processes, defining future-state requirements and producing the documentation needed to enable subsequent system and process implementation.
You'll act as the treasury subject matter expert, providing independent challenge, industry best practice guidance and practical recommendations to support decision-making and solution design.
Key Responsibilities
Assess and document current-state treasury forecasting processes, data sources and reporting outputs
Identify and catalogue existing inputs, data feeds, reports and forecasting drivers
Bring market-leading insurance treasury experience to inform future-state design decisions
Define integration approaches and conceptual solution designs to improve automation and efficiency
Gather and document business and configuration requirements for future implementation
Engage with Treasury, Finance and wider business stakeholders to understand upstream and downstream process dependencies
Define target-state operating processes and supporting procedures
Produce detailed requirements and technical specification documentation suitable for vendor delivery teams
Support governance forums, workshops and stakeholder reviews throughout the engagement
Partner with programme leadership and workstream teams to ensure alignment with wider transformation objectives
What We're Looking For
We're keen to speak with consultants who bring deep treasury expertise gained within the insurance sector, alongside a track record of delivering treasury transformation and process improvement initiatives.
Essential Experience
Extensive Treasury experience within the insurance industry
Strong understanding of liquidity forecasting, cash management and treasury operations
Experience documenting current-state and target-state processes
Proven requirements gathering and business analysis capability
Experience translating business needs into detailed functional and configuration requirements
Strong stakeholder engagement skills across Finance, Treasury and Change functions
Experience operating within large-scale transformation programmes
Highly Desirable
Experience improving or redesigning liquidity forecasting processes
Treasury systems implementation or optimisation experience
Understanding of treasury data architecture, integrations and automation opportunities
Experience working alongside third-party vendors and implementation partners
Familiarity with finance transformation programmes within the insurance market
