Join a company with a strong foundation, an exciting future, and a career path built to last. Want to join the ride?
We are always on the lookout for a talent with a growth mindset – are you the one?
We are looking for a Senior Integration Engineer with technical ownership of system integration for large and demanding marine customer projects. The preferred location for this position is Stord, Norway. We offer the possibility of hybrid work.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Senior Integration Engineer, you will lead the technical integration of multi-product electrical system deliveries and ensure that interfaces, functionality and contractual requirements are managed across the complete project solution. You will coordinate engineering work internally and externally and act as a key technical point of contact for customers, suppliers and project stakeholders. You’ll be part of our Electrical Systems & Integration team with diverse technical expertise.
Your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Take technical ownership of integrated electrical system solutions in large and demanding marine customer projects.
- Lead the engineering delivery for multi-product projects and coordinate technical work across disciplines, products and project partners.
- Define, manage and verify system interfaces, integration requirements and functional performance across the project solution.
- Ensure technical solutions comply with contracts, specifications, applicable rules and standards, and project quality requirements.
- Review and approve engineering documents, drawings, calculations and technical specifications within the assigned scope.
- Identify technical and integration risks, resolve complex issues and drive decisions with the relevant stakeholders.
- Manage technical communication with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, classification societies and internal project teams.
- Plan and support design reviews, FAT, commissioning and troubleshooting activities, and guide less experienced engineers.
To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have:
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, automation, power systems or another relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent competence supported by substantial relevant experience.
- Several years of relevant experience with complex electrical systems, preferably in project-based engineering or customer delivery. As guidance, this role will normally require at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience with system integration and multidisciplinary interfaces, including the ability to translate system requirements into coordinated technical solutions.
- Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution, protection, control and automation principles within complex installations.
- Experience taking technical ownership, coordinating engineering activities and reviewing the work of others.
- Ability to read, develop and approve electrical drawings, specifications, interface documentation and other project deliverables.
- Experience with relevant engineering and design tools, such as AutoCAD or equivalent, and structured document-management processes.
- Fluency in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate technical topics clearly to customers and project stakeholders.
We consider it an advantage if you also have:
- Experience with integrated marine power and propulsion systems, including generators, switchboards, drives, propulsion, energy storage or power-management systems.
- Knowledge of marine rules, classification requirements and relevant IEC standards.
- Hands-on experience from FAT, harbour or sea trials, commissioning and troubleshooting onboard vessels.
- Experience with low-, medium- or high-voltage switchboards and protection coordination in marine applications.
- Experience with functional descriptions, interface control documents, network or communication interfaces and system-level verification.
- Experience leading a small technical team or work package and coaching less experienced engineers.
- Familiarity with electrical calculation, simulation or engineering-database tools in addition to CAD.
