You’ll work with bright people on building and maintaining products and services that you and every other Australian get to benefit from every day. Whether you’re working from our modern office or your one at home, you’ll be part of a culture of collaboration and connection, making long-lasting impact right across Australia.
About the opportunity
The Integration Platforms team is responsible for the strategy, governance and operation of Australia Post’s API and integration platforms, enabling secure, scalable connectivity across enterprise systems, digital channels and partner ecosystems. As Integration Platform Manager, you'll lead the roadmap, delivery and continuous improvement of key integration technologies, including Kong API Gateway, Layer7, Tibco and Camunda. Working closely with Product, Technology, Data and Architecture teams, you'll drive resilient, secure and cost-effective integration services that support digital transformation and business growth.
We're looking for a strategic technology leader with deep expertise in APIs, integration platforms and platform operations. You'll balance business priorities, customer needs and technical feasibility to deliver future-ready integration capabilities, reduce complexity, accelerate delivery and support innovation through emerging technologies and AI-enabled solutions.
You’ll also
- Lead the delivery of secure, scalable and high-performing API and integration capabilities across Kong API Gateway and associated platforms, supporting Australia Post’s digital and enterprise priorities.
- Shape and deliver the API and integration platform strategy and roadmap, aligning business needs, emerging technologies, compliance obligations and cost optimisation opportunities.
- Provide leadership and guidance to architecture, engineering and delivery teams, ensuring strong API governance, lifecycle management and security practices across all integration solutions.
- Evaluate the value, viability and user needs of API and integration services, partnering with delivery teams to assess feasibility and deliver measurable business outcomes aligned to OKRs.
- Monitor platform performance, usage and cost metrics to identify optimisation opportunities, improve reliability and support data-driven decision making.
- Financial analysis for integration platforms, including cost modelling, usage forecasting, and optimisation across hybrid environments
About you
We're looking for a strong leader who can build trusted relationships and effectively influence across a complex senior stakeholder landscape. You'll work closely with the Enterprise Services Leadership Team, Heads of Technology, General Managers, Product Owners, Enterprise Architecture, and key external partners, including strategic vendors and cloud providers such as Google Cloud, to deliver commercial outcomes.
You’ll also need
- Extensive experience leading the design, implementation and ongoing management of API gateways and integration platforms within large, complex enterprise environments
- Background leading and coaching a team (developers) in integration and software engineering
- Understanding of Kong, TIBCO and Cloud Technologies (preferred)
- Ability to manage strategic vendor & partner relationships whilst working within Agile delivery environments and influencing cross-functional design, business and technology teams
- Integration platform planning with knowledge of industry standards, market trends, and competitive landscape for APIs, messaging, and workflow orchestration
What else is in it for you?
- Flexible and hybrid working arrangements, like the opportunity to work from home two days per week
- Opportunities for growth and development through formal programs or mentorship
- Exclusive team member discounts and offers for more cash in your pocket, evolving policies for flexible working, leave types and access to health and wellbeing resources
