Responsibilities
As a member of the Safety Regulatory Compliance Operations (SRCO) team, you will play a key role in keeping TikTok safe and trustworthy for our community. SRCO balances corporate compliance with practical operational safeguards to protect our users. Across our verticals, we work together to build efficient workflows that manage legal risk, covering regulatory compliance, law enforcement requests, and emergency response.
We are looking to grow our Intellectual Property (IP) team with professionals who are passionate about protecting user rights while maintaining platform integrity. Based in Sydney, you will work closely with our U.S. counterparts to provide seamless, round-the-clock coverage for the USDS JV division. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, proactive, thinks critically, and brings a solid grounding in IP law and content moderation operations.

Responsibilities
- Review and respond to designated volumes of copyright and trademark removal requests and inquiries efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with TikTok's IP policies and operational processes.
- Manage internal and external IP-related escalations and removal requests with urgency and sound judgment.
- Partner with various stakeholders on IP operational projects, including Global IP Ops teams.
- Support and drive training and mentorship of junior team members.
- Lead projects to identify gaps in existing procedures, policies, and workflows, implementing improvements aligned with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), the Lanham Act, and emerging U.S. legal requirements.
- Stay current on evolving global and U.S. intellectual property regulations and trends to continuously elevate TikTok's IP practices and operational readiness.
- Communicate and escalate complex IP questions, edge cases, and high-risk concerns to team leadership or legal counsel as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience in Trust & Safety, Legal Operations, Content Moderation, Risk Management, or a related high-velocity operational domain or compliance landscape.
- Highly autonomous and self-driven, with a track record of making sound operational decisions and managing priorities with minimal supervision.
- Hands-on experience with project development, workflow optimization, and policy implementation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable reviewing and handling sensitive content.
- Ability to work in differing work rotations/shifts (including nights, public holidays and weekends). Shifts may be subject to change based on business needs. Current Shift options: 12pm-9pm schedule, 1pm-10pm, 2pm-11pm, 3pm-12am shift.
Preferred qualifications
- Direct experience evaluating, processing, and resolving Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown notices and trademark infringement requests.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment and take daily operational challenges in stride.
- Strong personal resilience and a focus on self-care when managing the emotional demands of content moderation.
