Job Title: Interior Designer Job Description Lead interior architectural design across all project phases, including programming, conceptual design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration. Develop space plans, interior architectural details, material and finish palettes, furniture selection, specifications, and procurement. Collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors to deliver integrated design solutions. Serve as a client-facing team member by understanding project goals, managing expectations, and clearly communicating design concepts and recommendations. Coordinate and produce high-quality drawings and specifications using Revit and related tools. Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards. Conduct site visits and support construction administration activities. Manage schedules, budgets, and deliverables; contribute to quality control reviews. Mentor and support junior staff as appropriate. Adapt to project needs by contributing in both leadership and support roles while maintaining strong collaboration and design quality. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or Architecture. 6+ years of professional experience in an architecture or interior architecture firm. Licensure as an Interior Designer or Architect or ability to obtain licensure. WELL AP or similar sustainability/wellness credentials are valued. Experience across civic project typologies such as municipal/government, emergency/safety, community/recreation center. Work Environment Located in Darien, IL & Chicago, IL, the office offers a large, spacious environment with ample parking and a large kitchen/dining area. Employees work a flexible schedule, with four 9-hour days at the office and a half-day remote on Fridays. The dress code is business professional Monday through Thursday, with a more relaxed business casual on Fridays. The office features an open floor plan with cubicle layout, lots of natural light, and opportunities for social events and company outings. It is a LEED Platinum building, and hybrid vehicle drivers can enjoy priority parking. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Darien, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $83000.00 - $95000.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
