We are seeking a reliable, detail-driven Intermediate Bookkeeper to join our finance team supporting a prominent Australian client. You will work closely with Finance Managers to oversee accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, multi-entity payroll processing, and month-end reporting across multiple club and hospitality venue accounts.
Your Impact
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process supplier invoices via Dext and Xero, manage weekly AP payment runs, prepare ABA banking files, generate customer invoices, and reconcile debtor and creditor balances.
Reconciliations & Cash Management: Reconcile bank, credit card, and clearing accounts; process reception takings, cash receipts, and venue revenue streams; maintain software data feeds and assist with balance sheet reconciliations.
End-to-End Payroll Processing: Manage multi-entity payrolls using Xero Payroll-processing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly pay runs for staff and specialized roles; calculate leave, superannuation (Payday Super/SuperStream), and Single Touch Payroll (STP) filings.
Reporting & Audit Support: Prepare month-end supporting schedules, assist with Business Activity Statement (BAS) and Income Activity Statement (IAS) preparation, and gather documentation for external audit requests.
Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise directly with client staff regarding invoices, payments, and payroll inquiries while identifying operational improvements to optimize finance processes.
What You Bring
Education & Experience: Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping with 2 to 4 years of hands-on bookkeeping/accounting experience.
Software Proficiency: High competency in Xero and Dext, along with intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, data analysis).
Australian Payroll & Tax Knowledge: Solid working understanding of Australian payroll processes, Modern Awards, superannuation rules, STP reporting, and GST/BAS concepts.
Core Competencies: Proven ability to manage multi-entity accounts under strict deadlines, sharp attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and superior written and verbal English communication skills.
