Join the Itron HRIS team and gain hands-on experience supporting People Analytics initiatives that help drive data-informed workforce decisions across a global organization. This internship provides an opportunity to work with HR technology, workforce data, and global stakeholders while contributing to projects that support Itron's mission in the utilities and energy technology sector.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support People Analytics projects and routine reporting by collecting, organizing, validating, and analyzing workforce and HR data to identify trends and actionable insights.
- Assist in developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, scorecards, and visualizations that help leaders make data-driven decisions.
- Partner with HR, HRIS, Talent Acquisition, and other global business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver meaningful analytics solutions.
- Identify and apply emerging AI and machine learning techniques to existing datasets to identify predictive patterns and generate insights that go beyond standard dashboards.
- Prototype and pilot AI-powered reporting tools to translate complex data sets into actionable stories and recommendations for HR and business leadership.
- Support data preparation, cleansing, and quality assurance activities across HR systems while demonstrating accountability for data accuracy and integrity.
- Assist with the development of presentations and summaries that communicate analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate across global teams to support HR technology enhancements, reporting automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Apply customer-centric thinking to understand stakeholder needs and deliver insights that support business outcomes.
- Uphold data privacy, confidentiality, and ethical standards in all analyses and interactions.

Required Skills & Experience
- Enrolled in a Bachelor's or graduate level degree program in Human Resources, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Strong technical aptitude and demonstrated experience working with data, reporting, analytics, or business intelligence tools.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation, formulas, pivot tables, and reporting.
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with SQL, Python, R, or other analytical tools used to extract, manipulate, and analyze data.
- Ability to analyze complex information, identify patterns, and communicate findings clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with global stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in an agile, fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to inclusive practices, confidentiality, data privacy, and ethical decision-making.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Previous internship, research, academic project, or work experience involving people analytics, workforce analytics, HRIS, or business intelligence.
- Experience working with HR systems such as Workday, SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, UKG, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of workforce metrics, organizational reporting, talent analytics, or employee experience data.
- Experience creating dashboards, automated reports, or data visualizations for stakeholders.
- Exposure to a global business environment and collaboration across regions, cultures, and functions.
- Interest in leveraging innovative technologies and analytics to improve employee and business outcomes within the Utilities & Energy technology industry.
Duration: 40 hours per week, Summer 2027
Location: Liberty Lake, WA (Hybrid; 2 days per week onsite) state minimum wage up to $44.23/hr
