The manager is accountable for ensuring the integrity, accuracy and compliance of material and pricing data that support commercial, service, finance, regulatory, and operational processes. This role drives operational excellence through strong governance, automation, data stewardship, and cross-functional collaboration while supporting enterprise transformation initiatives and future-state business capabilities.
As a strategic leader, the Manager establishes governance frameworks, develops team capabilities, and partners with business and technology stakeholders to ensure master data processes effectively support organizational objectives, regulatory requirements, and digital transformation goals.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management
- Lead, develop, and coach a team of Material Master Pricing Administrators responsible for material master, pricing, and modeling activities.
- Establish clear performance expectations, development plans, and operational objectives aligned with organizational priorities.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, innovation, and customer focus.
- Manage workforce planning, workload prioritization, resource allocation, and succession planning.
- Build organizational capabilities supporting SAP S/4HANA, P58, master data governance, automation, and digital transformation.
- Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across regional and functional teams.
Master Data Governance & Business Ownership
- Own and govern material master and pricing administration processes, ensuring compliance with enterprise standards and business requirements.
- Establish governance frameworks, policies, controls, and performance metrics supporting data quality and process compliance.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex material master and pricing issues impacting business operations.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action planning for systemic data quality and process issues.
- Ensure material and pricing data remain accurate, complete, timely, and audit-ready.
- Partner with global and regional governance teams to align local business requirements with enterprise data standards.
Material Master Governance
- Oversee the creation, maintenance, extension, release, and retirement of material master records.
- Ensure material attributes, product hierarchies, classifications, restrictions, and release controls are accurately managed.
- Establish controls that support regulatory compliance, operational readiness, and product lifecycle management.
- Partner with Product Management, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, IT, and Commercial Operations to align master data with approved business decisions.
- Drive standardization and simplification of material master processes across business units and product portfolios.
Pricing Governance & Administration
- Provide leadership and oversight for pricing master data, price lists, local pricing conditions, and pricing-related governance activities.
- Ensure pricing data is validated, synchronized, and maintained across integrated business systems.
- Establish controls to ensure compliance with pricing approval processes and commercial governance requirements.
- Lead investigation and resolution of pricing issues impacting customer orders, revenue recognition, service delivery, and financial reporting.
- Partner with Pricing, Finance, Commercial Operations, and IT leaders to identify process improvements and automation opportunities.
Data Architecture
- Lead governance and strategic direction for modeling structures supporting master data management processes.
- Ensure data models effectively support business requirements, reporting needs, automation objectives, and downstream system integrations.
- Approve changes to key data structures, hierarchies, classifications, and business attributes.
- Collaborate with business process owners and technical teams to develop scalable, future-state data solutions.
- Ensure alignment between models, enterprise data architecture standards, and governance requirements.
Process Excellence & Transformation
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve data quality, process efficiency, and operational performance.
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation, workflow optimization, and digital enablement.
- Support enterprise transformation initiatives, including P58 deployments, testing, validation, migration readiness, and stabilization activities.
- Establish and monitor KPIs related to master data quality, productivity, accuracy, compliance, and service levels.
- Champion best practices and standard operating procedures across master data management processes.
- Ensure process documentation, training materials, and work instructions remain current and effective.
Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnership
- Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner for material master and pricing governance activities.
- Collaborate with Commercial Operations, Lifecycle Operations, Product Management, Finance, Regulatory Affairs, and IT leadership teams.
- Represent master data and pricing governance requirements during audits, compliance reviews, system enhancements, and transformation programs.
- Influence business decisions through data-driven insights, governance expertise, and operational leadership.
- Drive alignment across stakeholders to ensure sustainable and scalable business processes.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Finance, Data Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience supporting material master, pricing administration, master data governance, or commercial operations processes.
- 2+ years of leadership experience managing teams in a complex, matrixed business environment.
- Strong knowledge of Material Master and Pricing processes.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives and driving process improvements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Experience managing competing priorities while ensuring compliance and operational excellence.
Preferred
- SAP S/4HANA and P58 experience.
- Experience with Master Data Governance (MDG) platforms and governance frameworks.
- Knowledge of pricing configuration, commercial operations, material lifecycle management, and revenue-related business processes.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale transformations, system implementations, and data migrations.
- Experience with automation technologies, workflow optimization, and AI-enabled business solutions.
- Understanding of modeling, enterprise data architecture, and data governance principles.

The base pay range for this position is:
$114,720 - $157,740Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
