Location : Leiden and Remote Department : ESG (Climate Change) Duration : 3 months Reports to : Business Owner – Climate Change Role Overview We are seeking a proactive intern to support the identification, assessment, and management of climate-related risks across our operations and supply chain. This role will contribute to our long-term resilience strategy, helping the company align with frameworks such as the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and prepare for future climate scenarios. Key Responsibilities Assist in conducting climate risk assessments, including physical risks (e.g., flooding, heatwaves) and transition risks (e.g., regulatory changes, carbon pricing). Support scenario analysis using climate models and socio-economic pathways (e.g., IPCC SSPs, RCPs). Help map vulnerabilities across assets, operations, and supply chains Contribute to the development of resilience strategies, including adaptation measures and business continuity planning. Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., operations, finance, procurement) to gather data and align risk mitigation efforts. Providing a view as to the physical and transition risks, their identification and severity/likelihood assessment Prepare visualizations, dashboards, and reports for internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Climate Policy, Sustainability, Risk Management, or related field. Familiarity with climate risk frameworks (e.g., TCFD, IPCC), climate modeling, and ESG reporting. Strong analytical and research skills; experience with GIS or climate data tools is a plus. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Interest in climate adaptation, resilience planning, and corporate sustainability.
