Kids Help Phone (KHP) is Canada’s Unlock The Hope Youth Charity. We’re the first and Canada's only national 24/7, free, confidential, and multilingual e-mental health service for youth and a global leader in innovation for youth and their well-being. The Inuit Engagement Coordinator (IEC) will work closely with Indigenous communities with focus on Inuit communities, organizations, and partners to advance Finding Hope: Kids Help Phone’s Action Plan for Supporting First Nations, Inuit and Métis Young People. The Inuit Engagement Coordinator will increase access to, and awareness of Kids Help Phone services and other resources among Indigenous youth and communities.  The IEC will support volunteers in Weaving Threads: An Indigenous Engagement Program, coordinate sessions of Brighter Days: An Indigenous Wellness Program supported by Sun Life, and support participating in other KHP Indigenous programs and initiatives. The IEC will also support Kids Help Phone’s broader Indigenous initiatives through volunteer recruitment, donor support, event and meeting coordination, and Indigenous advocacy efforts.  It’ll take courage, collaboration, innovation, resilience and trust. The Inuit Engagement Coordinator will work directly with Indigenous youth and add an Inuk perspective to Kids Help Phone programs and services therefore Inuit applicants are preferred and only First Nations, Inuit or Métis candidates will be considered.    The responsibilities Support volunteers in Weaving Threads: An Indigenous Engagement Program through onboarding and training, regular check-ins, and assisting volunteers in their role of building awareness of Kids Help Phone services, providing ongoing input, connecting youth with resources and more  Coordinate Brighter Days: An Indigenous Wellness Program supported by Sun Life including booking sessions and ensuring participating groups receive all program materials Coordinate the distribution of outreach materials to Indigenous communities Assist Indigenous communities who wish to increase access to and awareness of Kids Help Phone services Contributes to Kids Help Phone committees and supports Indigenous advocacy efforts Identifies potential Indigenous partners, vendors, and trainers to support Kids Help Phone’s Indigenous and diversity initiatives Contributes to program and service development and evaluation Preferred skills & Experience Ability to communicate in Inuktitut is an asset Indigenous Knowledge of Indigenous Peoples (First Nations, Metis & Inuit) and Indigenous ways of knowing  Candidates who reside in Inuvialuit (Northwest Territories and Yukon), Nunavut, Nunavik (Northern Quebec), and Nunatsiavut (Labrador) is preferred Experience working with Inuit communities, youth and Elders and allies  Post-secondary degree or diploma in relevant discipline (e.g. public health, social work, education, applied social sciences, communications)  Two years of experience supporting youth volunteers  Able to manage projects and tight deadlines in a fast paced, resource-lean environment Strong sense of professionalism, confidentiality and commitment to maintaining a safe environment for youth Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products Demonstrated commitment to volunteerism, non-profit and/or mental health sector We value diverse experiences and perspectives.
