We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and community-minded Lead Patient Engagement Coordinator to guide our patient operations and community outreach efforts. This dual-purpose lead role bridges administrative clinic excellence with proactive community expansion. In addition to managing complex patient navigation, insurance verification, and provider support, you will act as a subject matter expert—mentoring team members, optimizing workflow processes, and designing high-impact outreach initiatives to drive departmental growth. The ideal candidate is an empathetic, highly organized leader energized by empowering a team, streamlining operations, and connecting diverse populations to accessible healthcare. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Patient Intake & Coordination Inbound & Outbound Communication: Responsible for answering, returning, and scheduling client calls promptly and professionally. Screening & Triage: Implement a screening and triage process to assist potential patients in determining the necessary services. Pre-Admission Data Entry: Complete all data entry for pre-admission including identifying information, the reason for referral, relevant history, and insurance information. Insurance Verification: Verify patient health insurance eligibility, benefits, and pre-authorizations accurately prior to appointments. Advanced Scheduling: Utilize the ability to add, update, and edit scheduling services to maximize clinic efficiency. Risk Identification: Identify emergent or complex cases and seek clinical review, as needed, prior to finalizing the patient's appointment. Internal Operations & Provider Support Staff Collaboration: Maintain a positive working relationship with managerial, administrative, and clinical staff to assure efficiency in the day-to-day responsibilities. Provider Alignment: Work closely with healthcare providers to monitor patient attendance, troubleshoot barriers to care, and ensure a seamless patient experience. Compliance: Maintain confidentiality of all clinical and administrative information consistent with company policy and HIPAA guidelines. Community Outreach & Growth Grassroots Outreach: Represent the organization in local communities to raise awareness of our services and connect individuals to care. Tabling & Events: Plan, coordinate, and staff community health fairs, cultural events, and tabling opportunities. Administrative Flexibility: Performs other duties as assigned to support the growth and needs of the department. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Educational and Technical Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Language Skills: Fluent in written and spoken English; Bilingual in Spanish preferable KEY INTERACTIONS Key Internal Contacts: Patients, Director of Behavioural Health, Chief Clinical Officer, Administrative staff, Patient Coordinators Purpose of Interaction: Communication with all parties to address any issues relating to work or patients Key External Contacts Health Regulations Agencies Keep updated of all Health regulations and Standards Years of Experience: At least 2 years office experience REQUIRED Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidential records. Exceptional verbal and written communications skills. Computer skills and proficiency in office suites (Microsoft Office and Google), Spreadsheets (Excel, Google Spreadsheets), operating system (Windows), communication and collaboration (Gmail). Strong analytical thinking and ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
