Description
The Accounting Manager is responsible for inventory accounting activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inventory financial results, and providing meaningful analysis to support business decisions. This role requires a highly analytical, solution-oriented leader who can independently identify issues, perform root-cause analysis, and develop scalable solutions in a complex, high-volume retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze large data sets to identify trends, anomalies, financial risks, and opportunities.
Support inventory accounting processes utilizing the Retail Method of Accounting, including analysis of cost complements, markups, markdowns, shrink, and inventory valuation.
Investigate accounting and system discrepancies, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
Ensure inventory balances and transactions are accurately reflected in the general ledger and supporting inventory systems.
Partner with Merchandising, Operations, Technology, and other accounting teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
Lead process improvements, automation, system enhancements, and transformation initiatives.
Maintain strong internal controls, accounting documentation, and audit readiness.
Proactively identify issues and drive solutions with minimal direction.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
CPA preferred
Experience with the Retail Method of Accounting (RMA) preferred
Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
