As an Investigator, Research & Analytics , you’ll use your research, analytical, and investigative skills to uncover insights and solve complex information challenges for our clients. Reporting to the OSINT Team Lead, you’ll take on a diverse range of investigative assignments, conducting detailed and timely research and transforming information from multiple sources into clear, accurate, and meaningful findings. What You Will Do: Conduct detailed background, asset, and corporate investigations using advanced internet research techniques, databases, and other investigative resources. Conduct OSINT research across websites, social media, and other online platforms to identify, analyze, and document relevant information. Locate and identify individuals across Canada using a combination of databases, online research, inquiries, and investigative techniques. Research potential intellectual property concerns through online investigation and, when required, site attendances. Help identify key focal points, identifiers, and other intelligence to ensure surveillance and investigative resources are deployed effectively. Analyze information from multiple sources, recognize patterns and relationships, and develop a clear picture from complex or fragmented information. Accurately document investigative activity and findings, and prepare clear, professional reports for clients in accordance with Xpera standards and practices. Conduct all investigations in compliance with applicable privacy legislation, internal policies, and industry best practices governing open-source intelligence. Provide OSINT and investigative research support to our Surveillance and Risk Management teams as needed. Keep current with emerging technologies, online platforms, investigative tools, industry trends, and best practices. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to share knowledge and strengthen investigative capabilities. Attend court appearances or legal proceedings when required. Take on other investigative and related responsibilities as required, contributing to a dynamic and collaborative team environment. What You Will Bring: A post-secondary education is preferred, particularly in related fields such as Criminology, Forensic Crime and Intelligence Analysis, Journalism, Sociology, Psychology, or similar discipline. An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and relevant investigative experience will also be considered. At least 2 years of professional research and/or investigative experience. Experience working in a client-focused environment, with a strong commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and service excellence. Completion of “Using the Internet as an Investigative Research Tool” training through Toddington International is preferred. Candidates who have not yet completed the training must be willing to do so within two months of joining the team. A valid Private Investigator within the applicable province of employment. A valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record. Access to a reliable vehicle licensed for business/commercial purposes is required. A demonstrated ability to analyze information from multiple sources, identify relevant findings, and communicate conclusions clearly and accurately. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage priorities, and exercise sound judgment. An understanding of threat and risk assessment methodologies and analytics. Knowledge of the Canadian court system, insurance law, and privacy legislation is considered an asset. Exceptional written and verbal English skills are essential, including the ability to clearly communicate complex information and prepare high-quality investigative reports. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Advanced research, analytical, and report-writing skills. Why Work With Us: Hourly Rate: $26.00-$30.00 CAD per hour.
