JOB TITLE: Investment Accounting Manager
LOCATION(S): Bristol or Leeds
HOURS: Full Time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites
Help shape high-quality reporting across a diverse investment portfolio of more than £200bn, while leading people, improving processes and driving automation.
About this opportunity
We’re looking for a motivated finance specialist to join the Investment Accounting team within Wealth & Insurance Finance. The team produces high-quality information relating to the division’s investment portfolio, for direct use in reporting and by other teams across the business.
You’ll focus on asset data processes and climate reporting, overseeing key data attributes, simplifying the reporting of large data sets and managing the production of required climate reports. You’ll work in a collaborative environment with exposure to a range of Wealth & Insurance activities, financial reporting frameworks and regulatory requirements, including IFRS and Solvency UK/II.
Day to day, you will
- Lead the production of accurate, high-quality statutory and regulatory reporting information linked to the investment portfolio, including month-end close and quarterly Solvency UK/II asset reporting.
- Lead the annual production of climate reporting figures.
- Manage and develop direct reports, supporting their career development.
- Analyse and challenge large data sets, identify issues and work with external parties and internal stakeholders to resolve them promptly.
- Build a deep understanding of customer data requirements and embed them into team processes.
- Develop strong relationships with third-party service providers, internal customers using asset data and colleagues across Finance.
- Lead process improvements, automation and digital activity, particularly using Power Platform tools such as Power BI, Power Query and Power Automate.
- Provide insightful analysis of financial performance, key drivers and business outcomes.
- Lead and support change initiatives and smaller projects, including process, system and reporting upgrades.

What you’ll need:
- A relevant qualification in accounting or finance
- Experience in financial reporting under IFRS and Solvency II/UK frameworks
- Experience in investment reporting, and an understanding of key data attributes relevant to the Wealth & Insurance markets
- The skill to examine data and transform it into clear, meaningful insights
- Demonstrable experience in refining processes, automation, and change projects
- Strong organizational skills and careful attention to detail, combined with the capability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
And any experience of these would be really useful:
- Experience in, or a willingness to learn, the PCAF framework for greenhouse gas emission calculations for loans and investments
- Managing multiple direct reports and supporting their career development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect and persuade colleagues across teams
- Experience in, or a willingness to build skills with, tools that support data analysis and automation in particular Power Platform tools (e.g., Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate
