Curious about how primary healthcare reaches remote communities in Togo, or how smallholder farmers in Malawi build a better income? This might be the job for you.
Who we are
Jasmine Social Investments takes a venture philanthropy approach to driving social change. We identify exceptional entrepreneurs tackling some of today’s most pressing problems, including access to education and healthcare, sustainable livelihoods, and climate resilience. These are sector leaders with big ambitions and the drive to see them through. We help them get investment-ready, connect them to other donors in our network, and work alongside them as they scale to reach millions of people. To date, we have disbursed more than $300 million across grants and impact investments.
What you’ll do
As an analyst, you will be right in the middle of this work, understanding how we assess new opportunities, make funding decisions, and deepen our confidence in the impact they are creating.
You will work closely with our Investment Principals, supporting due diligence on organisations in our portfolio. You will be a genuine contributor to the team, helping draft reports that get to the heart of: (1) how these interventions actually work, (2) the team on the ground that makes it happen, and (3) how the right growth strategy can result in long-lasting impactful change.
On a day-to-day basis, that means writing a first draft for an investment memo, analysing key metrics across financials, operations, and impact, collecting the relevant diligence materials, and helping track milestones against actuals. You will also sit in on calls with established social entrepreneurs to get real exposure to how we identify and support social ventures.
The internship will follow a clear structure, aimed at building the relevant candidate into a well-rounded investment analyst. This will include presenting your work to the team each fortnight, where we will push you to make and defend clear recommendations.
What we are looking for
What we do is a rare blend of startup investing, financial analysis, behavioural science and impact evaluation. We are looking for individuals with an innate curiosity about how the world works, who enjoy crafting a beautifully written paragraph, can think numerically, and love debating a point of view.
We are a small team with the energy of a start-up, keep formal meetings to a minimum, and often collaborate with people in different time zones. To thrive at Jasmine, you will need to be detail-oriented while able to see the bigger picture, and proactive enough that you don’t need to be told what to do next.
What we offer
This is a 12-week paid programme, starting in November. You will be based in Auckland at our CBD office at least three days a week as part of our hybrid setup. We are flexible around university schedules and a well-deserved break, but we also value someone who can pitch in a few extra hours during the occasional busy stretch.
If you are interested and feel you are a good fit, please send your CV and a brief statement on why this internship appeals to you to [email protected]. Applications close on 11 September 2026.
