We are looking for an exceptional Investment Associate - Industrial & Infrastructure to join us in Hanoi.
This is not a conventional desk-based investment analyst role.
You will work across investment analysis, industrial intelligence, primary research, origination and transaction execution. One day may involve evaluating an industrial company or infrastructure project; another may involve visiting a factory, speaking with an industry executive, mapping a value chain, investigating a potential transaction or preparing for a meeting with an investor or corporate decision-maker.
The role sits close to the firm's principals and provides substantial exposure to real investment decisions and cross-border situations across Vietnam, China and Southeast Asia.
We expect modern AI tools to handle an increasing proportion of routine knowledge work. We therefore want someone whose value extends well beyond gathering information and producing documents.
The successful candidate should use AI aggressively as a force multiplier while bringing what AI cannot: judgment, curiosity, verification, initiative, relationships, contextual understanding and the ability to discover what is not available online.

Approximately 1-5 years of professional experience would be typical, but this is not a rigid requirement.
We would rather hire an exceptional unconventional candidate than an average candidate with the "right" CV.
The ability to operate across cultures matters considerably more than collecting language certificates.
Hanoi, Vietnam - hybrid
The role will involve regular in-person work and field visits. Candidates should be comfortable traveling within Vietnam and occasionally elsewhere in Asia.
This is not intended to be a fully remote research role.
Tao Venture Partners is intentionally small.
That means you will not sit several organizational layers away from decisions. You will work directly on live opportunities and alongside the people making investment and strategic decisions.
