As FAIRTIQ grows, more mobile apps are being built using our technology. One of these apps was built for our strategic partner in Denmark and became the main sales channel across the entire country. We continue to improve this app, adding new features and strengthening its technical foundations.
We are looking for an iOS Engineer to join the team behind this app, build new features, improve the existing application, and deliver a high-quality user experience. You will also play a key role in modularizing our mobile codebase, enabling the partner apps to evolve more independently from our other applications.
Working closely with product, design, mobile and backend engineers, you will bring features from idea to production and help shape the technical direction of our mobile applications.
You will flourish in this role if you:
- Have strong professional experience developing and operating iOS applications with Swift
- Are comfortable working with both SwiftUI and UIKit and know how to evolve a mature codebase incrementally
- Have a strong understanding of mobile software architecture, modularization and dependency management
- Enjoy balancing the delivery of user-facing features with improving the architecture and maintainability of the codebase
- Care about clean, simple and testable code and use automated testing to deliver changes with confidence
- Take ownership beyond implementation, including releases, monitoring, production issues and continuous improvement
- Enjoy collaborating across product, design and engineering and can communicate technical decisions and trade-offs clearly
- Care about performance, reliability, accessibility, security and privacy as fundamental qualities of a mobile application
- Enjoy sharing knowledge and helping improve engineering practices across teams
- Are interested in contributing beyond iOS when useful; experience with Android or backend development is a plus
Role Responsibilities
- Design and implement new features for the iOS application, from technical design through release and production monitoring
- Maintain and continuously improve the existing iOS application, addressing bugs, technical debt, performance and reliability
- Contribute to modularizing FAIRTIQ’s iOS codebase so that other apps can increasingly be developed, tested and released independently
- Define and improve module boundaries, dependencies and interfaces in collaboration with engineers across the mobile teams
- Write simple, clean, maintainable and testable Swift code, working with both SwiftUI and UIKit where appropriate
- Build and maintain automated tests and contribute to CI/CD and release automation to ensure changes can be delivered safely and efficiently
- Monitor the application in production, investigate issues and contribute to incident response and postmortems
- Build accessibility, security, privacy and data protection into the application as part of everyday development
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, Android and backend engineers to design and deliver end-to-end product experiences
- Improve our engineering practices through code reviews, documentation, pairing and knowledge sharing across teams
- Take ownership of technical topics within the SAS team and actively contribute to improving how the team works
What we look for in you:
- BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- At least 4 years of professional experience developing iOS applications
- Strong Swift skills and the ability to write clean, maintainable and well-tested code
- Hands-on experience with SwiftUI and UIKit, including working with and evolving mature applications
- Strong understanding of iOS architecture, software design principles, modularization and dependency management
- Experience with automated testing and delivering high-quality applications through CI/CD and App Store release processes
- Understanding of the iOS application lifecycle, performance, concurrency and networking
- Experience integrating mobile applications with backend APIs and reasoning about client-server interactions
- Awareness of mobile security, privacy and data protection principles
- Proactive, organized and communicative — you enjoy collaborating across disciplines, taking ownership and sharing what you know
- Excellent English communication skills
Nice to have
- Professional Android development experience, particularly with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
- Backend development experience and an interest in contributing to features end-to-end
- Experience modularizing or decoupling a large, mature mobile codebase used by multiple applications
- Experience working with large-scale consumer applications where reliability and backwards compatibility matter
- Experience with mobile observability, performance monitoring and production incident investigation
- Experience improving mobile CI/CD, build tooling and developer experience
- Experience building accessible mobile applications
