As part of Accelerate, you will work at the forefront of technology on exciting digitization and transformation projects with market leading customers. We are passionate about realizing digital opportunities in the cloud and, together with our customers, we close the gap between aspiration and successful implementation. Communication is an essential part of the work since we collaborate closely with our customers. As an employee at ELITS, you will become part of a great team that responds with humility and takes pride in what we deliver.

About this opportunity

ELITS is looking for an IP Network Engineer to support our operations in Mississauga, Ontario.

We are seeking an experienced engineer to plan, design, integrate, optimize, and troubleshoot Internet Protocol (IP) transport and backhaul networks that support Radio Access Network (RAN) services.

The role focuses on Cisco Aggregation Services Router 920 (ASR920), Cisco Network Convergence System 540 (NCS540), and Cisco Network Convergence System 560 (NCS560) platforms. You will support capacity expansion, modernization, software upgrades, and operational activities across mobile transport infrastructure while ensuring engineering work meets customer requirements, Canadian regulations, and professional engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan end to end IP transport and backhaul capacity for wireless and enterprise services, including RAN growth, network modernization, technology refreshes, and end of life or end of support replacements.

• Design scalable IP and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) transport networks for Long Term Evolution (LTE), 5G, and enterprise services, including IP addressing, routing, virtual local area networks (VLANs), quality of service (QoS), resiliency, and Ethernet service architecture.

• Prepare High Level Design (HLD) and Low Level Design (LLD) documents, engineering designs, Bills of Materials (BoM), implementation packages, commissioning guides, configuration templates, and automation scripts.

• Support the integration and commissioning of Cisco ASR920, NCS540, and NCS560 platforms, including implementation, acceptance testing, service activation, software upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure modernization.

• Validate routing, MPLS, QoS, synchronization, Layer 2 and Layer 3 services, and network performance against customer standards, transport architecture guidelines, and operational requirements.

• Troubleshoot IP transport, routing, switching, MPLS, QoS, packet loss, latency, alarms, service impacting incidents, and outages, while completing root cause analysis and post implementation service validation.

• Collaborate with RAN planning, radio frequency (RF) engineering, core engineering, integration, operations, deployment, vendor, and customer teams throughout design reviews, technical workshops, planning, execution, and acceptance activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.

• At least five years of experience in IP and MPLS transport network engineering, including carrier grade network design, integration, troubleshooting, and optimization.

• Hands on experience with Cisco ASR920, NCS540, NCS560, Cisco Internetwork Operating System Extended (IOS XE), and Cisco Internetwork Operating System XR (IOS XR).

• Strong knowledge of Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4), Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Intermediate System to Intermediate System (IS IS), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF), MPLS, Layer 2 Virtual Private Network (L2VPN), and Layer 3 Virtual Private Network (L3VPN).

• Experience supporting mobile transport and RAN backhaul networks, including LTE transport, 5G transport, fronthaul, midhaul, backhaul, and network synchronization using Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE) and Precision Time Protocol (PTP) based on Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Standard 1588 version 2 (IEEE 1588v2).

• Experience with end to end QoS design, traffic engineering, service assurance, capacity modelling, performance analysis, network optimization, telemetry, monitoring tools, Python scripting, Ansible, and configuration automation.

Nice to have

• Cisco Certified Network Professional Service Provider (CCNP Service Provider) certification.

• Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert Service Provider (CCIE Service Provider) certification.

• Cisco Certified Network Professional Enterprise (CCNP Enterprise) certification.

• Cisco DevNet Associate or Cisco DevNet Professional certification.

• Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) Carrier Ethernet certification.

• IP, MPLS, or transport network certification.

• Experience supporting Tier 1 mobile transport networks.

Qualities

• Communicative, positive, and customer oriented.

• Strong analytical skills, logical reasoning, and problem solving abilities.

• Responsible, autonomous, and resourceful.

• Team oriented, organized, and committed to quality results.

• Creative and proactive, with ideas to improve products and processes.

• Able to coordinate and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
