The Division of Technology Services is seeking an IT Architect dedicated to advancing the Google Workspace team's mission of delivering strategic partnership to government agencies. Acting as an internal technical expert, the IT Architect delivers continuous technical guidance across the Google Workspace platform. Key responsibilities include designing architectures for new initiatives, resolving complex Google Workspace challenges, and recommending standards or technical stack enhancements to boost development environment integrity and increase cost and time efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architects new projects and finds options and solutions for complex problems and issues related to the Google Workspace Platform, Sendgrid and Virtru products.
  • Manages Google Cloud Platform architecture for the Google Workspace projects.
  • Architects and deploys Google BigQuery datasets, tables, and optimized views to guarantee high data availability and integrity for Google Workspace projects.
  • Establishes and maintains the enterprise foundation and governance framework for AppSheet usage.
  • Manages SendGrid infrastructure and ensures subuser accounts are set up appropriately with IP pools or dedicated IPs.
  • Oversees email authentication protocol (BIMI, DMARC, DKIM, SPF) for email deliverability.
  • Creates dashboards and reports using BigQuery data and Looker to provide insights to stakeholders.
  • Provides ongoing technical guidance to management and staff involved in the planning, implementation, and administration of technical environments, systems, or platforms.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems related to architecting technical platforms or new/enhanced systems/environments.
  • Designs, implements, tests and maintains applications with adherence to architectural governance established by the Division of Technology Services.
  • Establishes and documents standards for use and operation of applications.
  • Support for end users, providing suggestions and recommendations to users to help them understand potential limitations and challenges.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience architecting solutions across Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, Looker, AppSheet, Google Workspace, and email protocol (SPF, DKIM and DMARC).
  • Expert in the following programming languages: Java, JavaScript, and Python.
  • Ability to analyze and understand business processes to develop solutions that improve efficiency and productivity using Google Workspace.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to shared goals.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong, and the ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing so others will understand.
