The Opportunity

We are looking for a strategic and collaborative leader to establish, govern, and continuously evolve our enterprise IT Asset Management (ITAM) practice.

In this role, you will help shape how technology assets are managed across their lifecycle, ensuring our hardware, software, cloud subscriptions, licensing, and related lifecycle data are visible, trusted, compliant, and aligned with business needs. Your work will directly support service reliability, financial stewardship, risk management, and informed decision-making across the enterprise.

You will play a key role in helping the organization maximize the value of its technology investments while enabling scalable, efficient, and well-governed services.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead and continuously mature the enterprise IT Asset Management practice across hardware, software, licensing, cloud subscriptions, and related lifecycle data.
  • Develop, own, and maintain the ITAM practice framework, including policies, standards, governance controls, lifecycle processes, and operating procedures spanning acquisition, deployment, maintenance, optimization, and retirement.
  • Champion trusted asset data by improving visibility, accuracy, ownership, and lifecycle integrity across asset inventories, registers, configuration records, and service management systems.
  • Strengthen governance and compliance practices by leading software licensing oversight, audit readiness activities, evidence management, and controls related to unmanaged or unauthorized assets.
  • Partner with IT Operations, Finance, Procurement, Security, service owners, and technical teams to support lifecycle planning, renewals, capacity management, cost optimization, risk management, and service reliability objectives.
  • Define requirements for ITAM tools, data integrations, dashboards, reporting, and automation that improve enterprise visibility, decision-making, and operational efficiency.
  • Deliver timely, meaningful reporting, insights, and recommendations that help optimize technology investments, reduce waste, support contract and audit readiness, and enable sound operational and investment decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement by redesigning processes, advancing practice maturity, strengthening integration with adjacent ITSM and security practices, improving data quality, and implementing scalable lifecycle controls.

What You Bring

Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science is preferred.

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in IT Asset Management, IT Service Management, and/or IT Operations.
  • Strong knowledge of IT asset lifecycle management, including acquisition, deployment, maintenance, optimization, and retirement.
  • Working knowledge of asset registers and inventories, software licensing, compliance, reporting, and governance controls.
  • Strong understanding of how ITAM integrates across ITSM practices, including Change, Configuration, Security, and service delivery.
  • Experience with ITAM and ITSM tools, reporting, data management, integrations, dashboards, and automation. Experience designing, maturing, and governing enterprise-scale ITAM practices is preferred.
  • ITIL 4 Foundation certification is required. Additional IT Asset Management certifications are preferred.

Language Requirement: Bilingualism (EN/FR) is considered an asset. English is requirement, written and verbal, to provide services to our customers and communicate with internal stakeholders


Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B): This includes fingerprinting, a criminal record check and a credit check. You must have resided in Canada for at least five years and hold Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizenship status.

Pay Range:

88,158 - 99,177 CAD

The Base Pay range may vary depending on the successful candidate or other relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and education/training. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Medavie employees may participate in various performance-based incentive programs. Payments under these programs are discretionary and subject to both individual and organizational results.
