Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all software assets, including licenses, versions, and installations.
- Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and manage renewals and audits.
- Assist in software procurement, liaising with the Finance team for invoicing, billing, and maintenance of agreements in designated repositories.
- Monitor software usage to identify underutilized licenses and cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop and enforce software asset management policies and procedures.
- Generate regular reports on software usage, compliance, and cost savings.
- Maintain relationships with software vendors and manage contracts and agreements.
- Provide training and support to staff on software asset management best practices.
- Manage and optimize the company’s software assets, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements and cost-effective software procurement and usage.
- Manage cloud-based software and licensing models.
- Manage Tier 1 publishers including Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, and SAP.
- Identify license cost optimization and savings opportunities.
- Manage Enterprise License Programs (ELP) for major publishers and ensure compliance.
- Ensure there is no non-compliance and associated risks.
Governance
- Review service commitments, KPIs, and metrics.
- Perform software asset audits when required.
- Work with necessary teams to ensure publisher audit readiness.
- Conduct pre-reviews of reports related to assets.
- Identify and address policy or process violations.
Skills Required
- Strong understanding of software licensing and compliance.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in SAM tools such as ServiceNow SAM Pro and Flexera.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Software Asset Management or a related role.
Preferred Certifications
- Certification in Software Asset Management (e.g., CSAM).
- ITIL 4 Foundation.
