Job Title: IT Asset Manager

Location: Mexico (Remote)

Employment Type: Full-Time


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all software assets, including licenses, versions, and installations.
  • Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and manage renewals and audits.
  • Assist in software procurement, liaising with the Finance team for invoicing, billing, and maintenance of agreements in designated repositories.
  • Monitor software usage to identify underutilized licenses and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop and enforce software asset management policies and procedures.
  • Generate regular reports on software usage, compliance, and cost savings.
  • Maintain relationships with software vendors and manage contracts and agreements.
  • Provide training and support to staff on software asset management best practices.
  • Manage and optimize the company’s software assets, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements and cost-effective software procurement and usage.
  • Manage cloud-based software and licensing models.
  • Manage Tier 1 publishers including Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, and SAP.
  • Identify license cost optimization and savings opportunities.
  • Manage Enterprise License Programs (ELP) for major publishers and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure there is no non-compliance and associated risks.

Governance

  • Review service commitments, KPIs, and metrics.
  • Perform software asset audits when required.
  • Work with necessary teams to ensure publisher audit readiness.
  • Conduct pre-reviews of reports related to assets.
  • Identify and address policy or process violations.


Skills Required

  • Strong understanding of software licensing and compliance.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in SAM tools such as ServiceNow SAM Pro and Flexera.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Software Asset Management or a related role.


Preferred Certifications

  • Certification in Software Asset Management (e.g., CSAM).
  • ITIL 4 Foundation.
