IT Department Intern

This role is open to curricular and extra-curricular internship. The intern can be available part time or full time.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As an MIS Intern at Launchmetrics, you will be helping the team who is in charge of keeping our technology infrastructure running smoothly for teams across the company. Reporting to the MIS Director, you will support the day-to-day management of our information systems — from hardware and software to networks and user accounts — while building a solid foundation in IT operations.

This is a hands-on internship, with a hybrid work arrangement so you can balance time in the office with flexibility at home. You will be embedded in a collaborative, cross-border environment where your contributions have a direct impact on the productivity and security of our colleagues.

You will get practical exposure to a wide range of IT disciplines, working on everything from system maintenance and user support to security monitoring and technology testing. What you’ll do:

• Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners across the company

• Monitor the health and performance of IT systems and networks, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they affect users

• Respond to service requests and technical issues in a timely and organised way, whether in person, via Slack, or over a call

• Provide clear, approachable technical support to colleagues at all levels of technical confidence

• Set up and manage user accounts, ensuring new starters have everything they need from day one

• Carry out equipment repairs and coordinate replacements when hardware reaches end of life or fails

• Verify that active security systems are functioning correctly, reviewing alerts and escalating where needed

• Keep the company IP phone directory accurate and up to date, and manage internal call group configurations

• Research and evaluate new technologies and hardware, sharing findings to help the team make informed decisions

• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and contribute ideas that improve team efficiency
  

ABOUT YOU

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in ICT Support, Information Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field

• Working knowledge of macOS and Windows operating systems

• Ability to approach user problems in a structured, efficient way and see them through to resolution

• A proactive mindset with an interest in identifying automation opportunities to reduce manual workload

• Fluent written and spoken English
