The IT Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting the global server infrastructure. This is a third-line support role that offers the opportunity to develop deep expertise in server technologies and enterprise infrastructure solutions. The position requires strong technical and engineering skills, along with high communication and coordination abilities, to effectively drive server-related initiatives across geographically distributed teams and locations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and maintain global physical server infrastructure across manufacturing sites, remote locations, and regional performance hubs.
Administer and support Windows Server operating systems, VMware virtualization platforms, and related infrastructure services.
Manage server lifecycle activities, including provisioning, patching, imaging, upgrades, security & compliance, and decommissioning.
Deploy, operate, and optimize cloud-based IaaS environments, primarily Microsoft Azure and Alibaba Cloud.
Drive infrastructure modernization initiatives, including workload optimization, rightsizing, and cost-efficiency improvements.
Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions for server provisioning, configuration management, and operational tasks.
Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
Partner with application owners and business stakeholders to gather requirements and recommend optimal infrastructure solutions.
Lead Proof of Concept (PoC) and pilot initiatives focused on emerging infrastructure technologies and best practices.
Contribute to infrastructure standards, technical documentation, and operational procedures.
Collaborate with global IT teams to ensure high availability, performance, security, and compliance of server platforms.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in IT infrastructure administration, engineering, or operations.
Experience with Windows Server administration and enterprise virtualization technologies (VMware preferred).
Knowledge of cloud computing concepts, public cloud IaaS platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
Automation and scripting acumen, including familiarity with technologies such as PowerShell, or Infrastructure as Code.
Understanding of server hardware, operating system lifecycle management, and infrastructure best practices.
Familiarity with monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and security concepts in enterprise environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
High communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams.
Nice to have
Experience with Azure Arc.
Interest in AI-assisted operations, automation and platform engineering concepts.
Cloud certifications (ex. AZ-104, AZ-305, VMware VCP).
