We are a multi-disciplinary consultancy delivering services across the UK within the construction, transportation, highways, and infrastructure sectors. Our business has been built on exceptional people and commitment to service excellence.

Our in-depth knowledge of the areas in which we work in, allows us to provide considered advice on development and investment strategies, risk management, procurement strategy and design development.

As a business that designs and delivers projects, from office buildings and homes to entire public realms and streetscapes, we understand that reflecting the needs of the communities we serve is key to long-term success - not just for our clients but for those that use and interact with these spaces.

We pride ourselves on our culture of supportive growth; providing mentoring opportunities and assisting with both professional and personal development. We know our people are the heart of our success and we really love what we do – we work smarter, together.

Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive IT Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of our IT environment.

You’ll be our senior in-house technology lead, working closely with colleagues across the business, our Managed Service Provider and other technology partners to ensure our systems are reliable, secure and performing effectively.

Alongside overseeing core platforms including Microsoft 365, Scoro and Salesforce, you’ll own the delivery and maintenance of our digital strategy and IT roadmap. You’ll work with senior leadership to identify priorities, manage technology-related risks and ensure our IT capabilities continue to support the organisation’s wider objectives.

This is a hands-on and varied role that combines operational IT management, vendor oversight, cybersecurity, governance and digital transformation.

What you’ll be doing

  • Acting as the main point of contact between the business and our Managed Service Provider, ensuring a high standard of support and service delivery.
  • Overseeing the performance and maintenance of Microsoft 365, Scoro, Salesforce and other business-critical applications.
  • Managing escalated IT support issues to minimise disruption across the business.
  • Maintaining clear IT documentation, policies and procedures.
  • Managing relationships with technology suppliers and monitoring performance against agreed service levels.
  • Supporting the selection and procurement of new systems, services and technology partners.
  • Working with our Managed Service Provider to identify and respond to cybersecurity risks.
  • Overseeing Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certifications.
  • Ensuring our systems remain secure, compliant and aligned with business requirements.
  • Managing integrations between core systems and identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement.
  • Owning and delivering the organisation’s digital strategy and IT roadmap.
  • Reporting on IT performance, risks and expenditure to senior leadership.
  • Maintaining IT, information security and AI governance policies.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve how technology is used across the organisation and supporting wider digital transformation.

What we’re looking for

  • At least three years’ experience in an IT management or senior IT support role.
  • Experience managing day-to-day IT operations and service delivery through a Managed Service Provider.
  • Practical experience supporting and administering Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Azure environments.
  • Experience managing multiple systems, suppliers and competing priorities.
  • Experience delivering or supporting digital transformation or IT roadmap initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-based environments, particularly Microsoft 365 and Azure.
  • A good understanding of IT governance, cybersecurity, GDPR and data protection.
  • Familiarity with identity management, network fundamentals and SaaS systems.
  • Evidence of continued professional development through practical experience, vendor training, online courses or relevant certifications.

Desirable experience

  • Experience within a professional services, consultancy or engineering environment.
  • Experience working with ERP and CRM systems such as Deltek Vantagepoint and Salesforce.
  • Experience supporting cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades or system integrations.
  • Familiarity with automation and low-code tools such as Power Automate, Power Apps or Workato.
  • An ITIL Foundation, Microsoft, cybersecurity or risk management certification.
  • Awareness of Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, business continuity and disaster recovery frameworks.

About you

You’ll be a confident problem-solver who can balance technical detail with the wider needs of the business. You’ll be comfortable working independently, managing external suppliers and explaining technical matters clearly to non-technical colleagues.

You’ll also be:

  • Proactive, organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • A clear and confident communicator.
  • Collaborative and service-focused.
  • Skilled in documentation, reporting and process improvement.
  • Commercially aware and able to deliver value through technology partners.
  • Resilient, adaptable and calm under pressure.
  • Committed to secure, ethical and responsible IT practices.
  • Trusted to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Willing to travel to other NRP offices when required.
