IT Network Engineer

As the IT Network Engineer, you will be responsible for establishing stability and simplifying connectivity to improve the user experience of IT delivered services. The position will have global responsibility, supporting North America, Europe, and additional regions across all Carmeuse locations. Your Responsibilities: As the Network Engineer based in our Bengaluru office, you will be responsible for: Troubleshoot network (LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP etc.) and firewall-related issues while providing excellent customer service according to priorities based on business impact and urgency You manage the lifecycle of the existing infrastructure to keep it modern and up to date You automate tasks and come up with improvements to increase efficiency You collaborate with project managers and technology teams to deliver efficient and quality projects You work closely with vendors, partners, and other relevant stakeholders You create technical documentation and review it regularly You provide guidance to other engineers and share knowledge via technical sharing sessions with the Service Desk You conduct latency optimization testing identifying breakages and recommends solutions You support a secured wireless environment You also support of datacenter migrations, upgrades, and redesign You finally support of global HQ, regional, and plants with Cisco and Meraki devices. Requirements: Basic requirements: Bachelor’s degree Engineer. advanced degree would be preferred. At least 8-10 years’ experience as network engineer – working with 24x7 critical systems following ITIL framework and in projects, working with stakeholders following structured methods. Eight (8) years preferred. Basic understanding of Business Operations (OT) concepts Advanced understanding of ITSM Framework (ITIL). ITIL Foundations certified required Must have relevant licenses or certifications- CCNA At least 5 years’ technical expertise in switching, routing, security (firewalls), wireless systems Expert knowledge of troubleshooting layer 1, layer 2 and layer 3 issues QoS design, deployment strategies and architectures experience Monitoring tools like CA eHealth, Solarwinds Orion, PRTG, or Ciscoworks Understanding of various network storage (SAN/NAS) & backup technologies. Needed skills: Good communication skills – collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders and be focused on problem solving and secure end-user satisfaction of our services Previous experience working in Global Teams Time Management Teamwork & Work Ethic Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving Technical Writing Organized and structured way of working Curiosity & Avid Learner Fluent in English (written & spoken); French is a plus Open to related travel (+/- 35%).
