About the Opportunity
The organization is seeking a full-time IT Operations Administrator to deliver employee support and help scale IT operations across a distributed remote workforce in the United States. This hands-on role spans endpoint management, identity and access, SaaS administration, and employee onboarding and offboarding.
The administrator will independently own complex issues and operational improvements from investigation through implementation, combining technical troubleshooting with automation and AI-assisted tools to reduce manual work, enhance reliability, and ensure employees work securely and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Deliver employee technology support from investigation through verified resolution across Slack, ticketing systems, and remote sessions, troubleshooting complex macOS, iOS/iPadOS, browser, connectivity, authentication, and SaaS issues.
- Communicate clear next steps and participate in the IT on-call rotation for urgent issues outside normal business hours.
- Manage the employee technology lifecycle, including onboarding, role changes, leaves of absence, and offboarding, while coordinating timely account and access updates, device provisioning, replacements, returns, and remote logistics.
- Administer endpoints through Kandji, Jamf, or a similar MDM platform, overseeing software deployments, configuration profiles, OS update rollouts, device health, and compliance follow-up, including testing changes and resolving exceptions.
- Manage the day-to-day administration and operational health of Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, and related SaaS platforms, troubleshooting configuration, single sign-on (SSO), provisioning, groups, permissions, and integrations with an understanding of downstream impacts.
- Maintain accurate device and application inventories, conduct access reviews, and coordinate license clean-up with application owners while applying least-privilege practices and verifying access changes.
- Build, test, document, and maintain scripts and workflow automations using administrative and AI-assisted tooling to minimize repetitive work, validating AI outputs, protecting sensitive data, and ensuring automations have monitoring, failure handling, and clear ownership.
- Identify recurring issues, prioritize improvements, and drive changes through pilots, employee communications, deployment, and validation.
- Measure operational results, plan for recovery, maintain runbooks and self-service guidance, and coordinate with IT engineering, security, people, and business teams.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, endpoint management, or technical support.
- Hands-on experience supporting macOS and iOS/iPadOS, including remote troubleshooting and endpoint administration, along with experience using Kandji, Jamf, or a comparable MDM platform.
- Experience administering Okta, Google Workspace, and modern SaaS applications, including working knowledge of SSO, provisioning, groups, and access lifecycle management, with the ability to troubleshoot across devices, browsers, identity, and integrations.
- Experience delivering improvements to IT systems or workflows, assessing dependencies, testing changes, communicating employee impact, validating results, and independently managing complex issues while knowing when to escalate.
- Experience building or adapting scripts or workflow automations to reduce repetitive work, alongside the ability to troubleshoot and maintain them.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with experience working in a distributed environment and explaining technical issues to individuals with varying levels of technical familiarity.
- Experience utilizing AI-assisted tools to improve IT workflows, paired with sound judgment regarding sensitive data handling, output validation, and the need for human review.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with GAM, APIs, or scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary typically ranges between $110,000 and $130,000, depending on experience, skills, seniority, and business needs; actual compensation may vary by location.
- Equity eligibility as part of the total compensation package.
- Comprehensive health coverage, including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Paid time off.
- 401(k) plan with matching.
- Paid parental leave.
- Home office stipend.
