About the Role
PayMitto is looking for an Implementations Manager to own the onboarding and go-live process for our clients, from contract signature through production launch. You will run day-to-day implementation projects for a portfolio of financial institution (FI) clients, coordinating with engineering, compliance, and client success, and serving as the point person when things get complicated.
You will spend your days moving between client-facing meetings, internal standups, and hands-on problem solving with engineering and vendor partners (Q2, SoCure, Sardine, and similar platforms). We are searching for someone who is equally comfortable running a structured project plan and diving into a technical escalation to figure out what is actually going wrong.
We're looking for an IT Operations Engineer who loves keeping things running and also enjoys getting hands-on with cloud and customer onboarding. This role is a blend of two worlds:
- About 60% internal IT operations, keeping our team productive and secure
- About 40% Azure support, customer provisioning, and integrations
If you like variety, enjoy automating the boring stuff, and want to work closely with cloud engineers, InfoSec, and Implementations, this one's for you.
Our IT Operations Engineer will be based in Atlanta, GA. This is a hybrid role requiring Tuesdays and Thursday in-office at the Battery.
What You'll Do
Internal IT Operations
- Manage our laptop fleet through MDM (Jamf, Intune), including enrollment, configuration, and compliance
- Manage endpoint protection tooling
- Track inventory and handle software purchases, subscriptions, and vendor relationships
- Administer Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online and SharePoint
- Own identity and access in Entra ID, including RBAC and employee onboarding and offboarding
- Manage our domain portfolio and DNS, including DKIM, DMARC, and related mail security controls
- Manage the certificate and credential lifecycle (TLS/SSL for company websites, mTLS for client integrations)
- Administer Slack and Teams
- Document processes and build scripts and runbooks to automate recurring work
- Monitor and triage the internal helpdesk queue and support staff with day-to-day IT needs
- Support our on-site environment, including fiber, Wi-Fi, the security badge system, and in-person laptop troubleshooting
- Participate in change management for infrastructure and access changes
- Take part in a rotating on-call or escalation schedule
- Partner with InfoSec on security and compliance controls
Azure Cloud Support, Customer Provisioning & Integrations
- Create and configure new customer environments across Azure, PostgreSQL, Auth0, and third-party platforms (like Q2)
- Build SFTP file delivery pipelines using Azure Data Factory
- Configure SSO integrations through Auth0
- Troubleshoot provisioning and integration issues as they come up
- Act as a technical liaison: meet with internal teams and clients to gather requirements, work out integration specs, and guide customers through onboarding
- Monitor system health and uptime, and respond to alerts for API and web application failures
- Support our cloud infrastructure, including routine Azure resource and permissions requests, reviewing and running SQL scripts, Defender for Cloud findings, and patching through Azure Update Manager
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years in IT operations, systems administration, or a related tech role
- Experience provisioning and managing accounts across cloud and SaaS platforms (Azure, database platforms, identity providers)
- Familiarity with identity and SSO platforms
- MDM experience (Jamf, Intune) managing a device fleet
- Microsoft 365 admin experience: Exchange Online, SharePoint, Entra ID
- Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, and Python
- Solid understanding of networking, DNS, SSL/TLS, and mTLS
- Comfort owning a helpdesk queue and prioritizing competing requests
- Experience with vendor and subscription management
Bonus Points
- Fintech or regulated industry experience (SOC 2, PCI)
- Experience with Azure Data Factory or similar file transfer and ETL tools
- Exposure to Azure infrastructure (App Services, storage, networking)
- Background with endpoint protection or security tooling
What Success Looks Like
First 30 days
- Get a broad understanding of our IT stack and the customer provisioning workflow, end to end
- Shadow existing processes
- Start handling helpdesk tickets on your own
First 90 days
- Handle customer provisioning independently with minimal oversight
- Flag gaps in automation and documentation, and work with others to close them
- Use our MDM tooling to improve how we manage devices
First year
- Cut turnaround times across key IT functions
- Build self-service or automated tooling for repetitive tasks
- Identify and resolve coverage gaps
- Set clear ownership boundaries with the cloud engineering and InfoSec teams
