IT PeopleSoft Programmer/Analyst

Responsible for providing assistance and support in formulating and defining system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding; develop and modify PeopleSoft information systems; prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written; design, code, test, debug, document, and maintain assigned programs; troubleshoot application issues and data issues as they arise; work as a member of a IT Team accountable for production support including on-call duties in a 24x7 environment, as well as new projects; participate in requirements definition sessions to gain a general perspective on the business objectives and business problems that are to be addressed by the system; work with Business Analysts to gain an understanding of functional requirements; work with Business Analysts to develop implementable technical designs; research and recommend alternative design solutions where appropriate; analyze requirements, design and develop prototypes and work with the users/business analyst to fine tune the application and make recommendations’ participate in peer/code/design reviews to verify that quality standards and functional/technical requirements are met; develop appropriate programs and systems documentation according to established IT standards; create test scenarios and develop test plans to be used in testing the business applications in order to verify that client requirements are incorporated into the system design; assist in analyzing testing results throughout the project; enhance existing systems; participates in structured walkthroughs and technical reviews; support production systems by helping resolve problems, providing timely follow-up on problem reports, optimizing performance, and streamlining processes; assist in coordinating developments tasks on projects and problem tickets; utilize and apply knowledge of PeopleSoft FSCM applications, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Component Interface, Application Packages, Approval Workflow Engine, Integration Broker, Work Center Framework, BI Publisher, PS Query, and SQR to complete assigned tasks; participate in technical reviews and inspections to verify 'intent of change' is carried out through the entire project; provides support and escalation response to production problem issues/errors; perform root cause analysis and application resolution; provide on call second-level escalation response for client issues and application problem tickets; collaborate with work teams, departments, system leadership, staff, other IT groups, and technology vendors to define needs and facilitate solutions; ensure proper documentation and on-time delivery of all technical artifacts and deliverables; and keep abreast of new tools, technology, and functionalities across applications.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree)

Training: None;

Experience: Five (5) years in the position above, as a Software Engineer, as a Peoplesoft Technical Developer, as a Senior Engineer, as a Consultant, or in a related occupation;

Other Requirements: Experience must include five (5) years use of all the following: PeopleSoft FSCM applications, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Component Interface, Application Packages, Approval Workflow Engine, Integration Broker, Work Center Framework, BI Publisher, PS Query, and SQR.
