IT Project Manager — Capability Delivery and Procurement Strategy for NATO with security clearance Run whole projects, not workstreams: the plan, the money case, the delivery and the people, inside a large international defence IT organisation. A multinational defence organisation is looking for a project manager who can carry a project from the first business case to the delivered capability. You would sit inside its project management office, take assigned projects end to end, and answer for time, cost and quality on each of them. What you would be doing Planning, running and managing assigned projects against the organisation's own project management policies and procedures. Building the procurement strategy, the benefit and risk analysis and the business case that win sponsor agreement and funding. Running the quality assurance work that decides whether a capability or a service is actually fit to hand over. Understanding what the client is really asking for, collecting the data, doing the analysis and resolving the problems that come out of it. Identifying, planning and allocating the resources a milestone needs, and taking corrective action early when one starts to slip. Leading project teams and individuals, directly or in a matrix, and keeping realistic plans and honest communication in front of stakeholders. Supporting other teams on project management work and taking on the technical support activities that come with it. What you would bring A bachelor's degree from a recognised university in a related discipline, with six years of relevant experience behind it. A formal project management qualification — PRINCE2 Practitioner or PMP. Demonstrated expertise in the domain can stand in place of the certificate. At least three years of recent project management in a large IT organisation where the investments are substantial. Experience of large digital transformation work in the public sector or an international organisation. Working knowledge of the modern approaches the job touches: agile delivery, change management, business process modelling, cloud, data science, cyber security. The ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy, in writing and in the room, and to brief a senior audience well. Nice to have: ITIL Foundation, project management tooling and automation such as ServiceNow or an ERP, portfolio and programme practice such as MoP or MSP, acquisition and procurement procedure, and time in an international environment with both military and civilian colleagues. Extensions are offered where the work goes well. Applications are reviewed as they arrive.
