Show job description

Boliden is a high-tech metals company with its own mines and smelters that works long-term to guarantee society's access to base and precious metals. For a century, our work has been part of the value chains that have shaped modern society. At Boliden, we know that the metals we mine and make available will continue to play a crucial role in the future – what matters is how we produce them. Become a part of us and drive change for generations to come.

Your opportunity

Do you want to take ownership of business-critical server infrastructure in a high-tech industrial environment? As our IT Service Specialist in Aitik, you will help ensure stable, secure and efficient IT services while contributing to future-ready infrastructure solutions. This is a varied specialist role with significant responsibility, technical breadth and the opportunity to make a visible impact on daily operations.

Who you will work with

You will be part of Aitik's local IT organisation, a group of approximately ten colleagues. Collaboration extends across local IT disciplines, central specialist teams, other Boliden sites and external suppliers. The team shares knowledge and works across boundaries.

What you will do

You will be responsible for the operation and lifecycle of the Aitik server environment. Your work will include:

  • Operating, administering, maintaining, installing, and upgrading server environments, Windows/Linux.
  • Working with Active Directory, Group Policy, virtualisation, storage, backup and physical server hardware.
  • Supporting secure infrastructure design, system segmentation, and implementation of new systems.
  • Handling incidents, troubleshooting technical issues, and contributing to root cause analysis.
  • Planning capacity, monitoring performance and improving availability, resilience, and recovery capability.
  • Driving continuous improvement through automation, standardisation and clear technical documentation.
  • Working with suppliers and internal stakeholders to turn different requirements into secure, practical, and maintainable solutions.

What you bring

You have several years of hands-on experience in server operations and infrastructure and can quickly understand an existing environment, set priorities and work independently. You are comfortable taking responsibility for delivery, while knowing when to involve colleagues or central specialists. You combine analytical problem solving with a structured and security-conscious approach. Collaboration comes naturally to you, and you communicate clearly with technical specialists, suppliers, and other stakeholders. You are curious, proactive and motivated by continuous improvement.

  • Completed upper-secondary education. Relevant post-secondary IT education is an advantage.
  • Several years of experience in server operation and infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory, including Group Policy.
  • Experience of virtualisation platforms such as VMware and/or Hyper-V, as well as storage and backup solutions.
  • Experience in IT security, infrastructure architecture, and secure implementation of systems.
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • A valid category B driving license for manual transmission.

Experience from agile ways of working, automation, PowerShell, Azure or hybrid environments is considered an advantage. Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes, is considered an advantage. Cisco or other relevant vendor certifications are also an advantage. Swedish language skills are beneficial but not required.
