Java Engineer - WFH

About the Role

IDR is seeking a Full Stack Java Developer for a major healthcare client. This role focuses on developing and maintaining full stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Angular, with an emphasis on healthcare-related systems. The successful candidate will contribute to application design, feature development, testing, validation, and deployment throughout the software development lifecycle.

This opportunity is suited to an experienced developer who has worked on large-scale healthcare applications and can contribute to both front-end and back-end development. The role also involves using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude and Codex, collaborating with project teams, and working within a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain full stack Java applications using Spring Boot, Hibernate, Angular, and AI-assisted development tools such as Claude and Codex.

• Build and implement new application features and functions while maintaining existing systems.

• Contribute to healthcare application projects, supporting end-to-end design, development, testing, validation, and deployment.

• Work with PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server databases as required by the application.

• Use the designated VDI environment for software development and testing activities.

• Collaborate with project teams to implement application requirements and deliver working features.

• Conduct application testing and verification to help ensure functionality and reliability.

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with at least five years of experience; alternatively, an associate's degree with at least seven years of experience.

• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and Hibernate.

• Experience using Claude and/or Codex AI tools for development.

• Hands-on experience with full stack application development, including design, testing, verification, validation, and deployment.

• Experience working on healthcare or similar applications, preferably involving large-scale systems.

• Experience working with PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server databases.

• Ability to collaborate with project teams and contribute across different stages of the software development lifecycle.

Compensation and Benefits

The contract pays $70–$78 per hour on a W-2 basis.

Work Arrangement and Contract Details

This is a 100% remote contract position with an expected duration of one year and the possibility of extension. Flexible scheduling is offered.
