Position Description
CGI is seeking an experienced Java Integration Developer to join our growing team. In this role, you will design, develop, and support enterprise integration solutions that connect business-critical applications across modern cloud environments. Working closely with solution architects, developers, business stakeholders, and infrastructure teams, you will build secure, scalable Java-based integration services while contributing to API development, cloud modernization, and digital transformation initiatives.
This opportunity is ideal for a developer with strong Java backend development experience, enterprise integration expertise, and a passion for building secure, high-performance solutions.
This is a full-time permanent opportunity based in one of CGI's Atlantic Canada offices, including Halifax, NS; Moncton or Fredericton, NB; St. John's, NL; or Stratford, PEI. Candidates must be currently located in Atlantic Canada or willing to relocate. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring three days per week onsite.

Your future duties and responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support enterprise integration solutions using Java.
- Develop secure, scalable backend services and REST APIs.
- Build and maintain integrations between enterprise business applications and cloud platforms.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, and business teams to deliver reliable integration solutions.
- Implement authentication and API security using industry-standard practices.
- Develop cloud-native integration solutions using AWS services.
- Troubleshoot integration issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement improvements.
- Participate in testing, deployments, documentation, and production support activities.
- Contribute to CI/CD automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support modern integration architecture and enterprise digital transformation projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience developing enterprise applications using Java.
- Strong experience developing REST APIs and backend services.
- Experience designing and supporting enterprise application integrations.
- Experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native application development.
- Strong understanding of authentication and security technologies, including OAuth, OpenID Connect, JWT, or similar standards.
- Experience integrating enterprise business systems such as CRM, ECM, customer data platforms, financial systems, or similar applications.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
The following qualifications would be considered assets:
- Experience with Kafka or other event-driven messaging platforms.
- Experience with AI integrations, agentic workflows, Model Context Protocol (MCP), or Generative AI technologies.
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, or automation tools.
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerized applications.
- Experience working within banking, financial services, or other regulated industries.
